I love writing Haikus. My best friend taught me how to write them. He said ' It's not that hard. All you have to do is learn.' So I did and I fell in love with them. Here's my first Haiku:

Clear like Crystals
It is clear, you know
that what some don't know, we do
albeit, they will.

I look
at my reflection
in my piano
My face is pretty
I close my piano

That isn't a haiku :/ A haiku has a syllable pattern that goes 5-7-5
That is 2-5-5

Schmiddy is correct. This is not a haiku. You may want to rewrite it or consider not posting here. There are other poetry threads. This one is exclusively for haikus. Sorry.

My Dream from last Night
It's an officer
I am sitting beside him
we're driving away

What is it about
I don't understand, I say
he looks at me now

his face tells me non
I feel something within me
he is an old friend

Why doesn't he say
why is this succh a secret?
I do not know him

I am confused now
first he smiles and now he frowns
what is it, what's it?

I am his partner
yes, we fight crie side by side
I've figured it out

no, it's all garbled
I am too small to help him
why does he need me?

and while I ponder
I look to see him stopping
it is an old house

Where are we, I ask
get out he tells me sternly
again I ask why

this is a warehouse
this is an ancient old house
chock full of dead crime

I see dust and webs
I see pale faces faded
he has disappeared

I stand alone now
the figures advance at me
I am poised to fight

Why is he gone now
I am surrounded and vexed
my patience tries me

I seize a pale throat
confusion becomes my mind
I fight with sorrow

I am drawn to him
I drag my foe to his feet
damaging the wall

there I lay down prone
my officer kneels by me
I struggle to breathe

again I ask him why
but his lips move silently
I cannot hear him

Here I sit awake
my officer but a ghost
of the dark, dark night

The silver moon rains.
The light reaches my darkness.
Will the void disperse.

Life flourishes up.
A hand risen through the Earth.
Rising from the dead.

1. Happy Easter. 2. I'm back to Haiku Land.

not many people knew
about me and the haiku
when we two, me and the haiku
move, we do, discreetly

Excellent student.

After teaching the children to count their way into an haiku...I wanted to get to the gist of an haiku...that sharpened moment of awareness...the stone of the idea sinking into the pond of the mind and sending out ripples of thought...when a butterfly presented itself in class and hover above the head of a student as she struggled with the concept. It was as if her thoughts had materialised above her head...it then flew to her haiku on the white board and fluttered over every word as if it were reading the words with its body...as if each word was a step it took to realisation. It was such a beautiful moment when the world and the world of words came together.

I don't like party's.
They're far too loud for myself.
I will avoid them.
