I'm interested in seeing who else on AG owns a bike. I actually made this thread in honor of my brand new 2011 Ducati Multistrada that I bought last Wednesday.

Everything is stock right now but I just got back from the freeway and benchmarked her at 158 mph on a 3 mile strech in 5th. I was hoping to push her further but the police rained on my parade, and I had to slow down because of highway patrol.

This is my first 1200cc bike surprisingly. I've been riding for 10 years now and my first bike was back in 2001. Haha
it was an '89 Kawasaki EX 250F Ninja that pumped 250cc. It would make it to 110 mph if you gave it a mile stretch, but it was one helluva bike that got me through college and it's part of the reason that got me my wife haha.

I also own a '07 Suzuki GSxr. I didn't do much to except change out the exhaust. It's 600cc.

Anyone else an avid rider? Who else owns a bike? What type and what are the specs? Also if you have any questions I'll try to answer them best I can, just remember I'm no mechanic.

Well that was an image fail.... my bad. Google them if you want to get a feel for what they look like. Sorry

Well, I have never ridden a motorcycle or anything similar in my life, except for maybe one of those mini-motorcycles that they design for kids.

Plus, motorcycles are pretty darn dangerous to drive around, especially if you're not careful.

So, yeah, motorcycles don't really appeal to me all that much.

They are dangerous I definitely agree! But that's what makes them part of the fun to me. Going 150+ mph weaving through cars is exhilerating, and I'm a guy for the rush. The wife hates it.

In the future, click the "full size image" button and use that image url rather than the ones you used from clicking on the image from the Google search page.

I've never driven or ridden on a motorcycle, and I don't think I ever will. I know I'll never drive one, because I can hardly ride a bike without falling off and I don't like the idea of losing a crash battle to a Smart car.

Thanks Ernie. I honestly had that fear the first time I sat down on my bike. It was more nervous anticipation. I fell down at least 5 times the first month, but after the scraps and bruises I'm a pretty good rider. It's all in the technique and how dedicated you are.

I rented a Honda Wave on Monday, my first bike, you guys probably wouldn't even cosider it a motorbike. I think they call it a semi: 4 gears, no clutch. It's the kind of thing everyone drives here. I'm learning to drive on (crazy) Vietnamese motorways at the start of wet season. Fun Fun. I had my first passenger today. Driving my friend to the airport. He weighs about 190 and had a heavy bag. What a difference he made. It lost all power, which is real troublesome with everyone cutting in front of you when the lights go green but he was a great passenger and gave me some helpful pointers along the way. My main sticking points in learning are the real simple stuff, remembering to:
-turn on/off the lights
-turn off the indicator
-put up the kick stand
-not slow down for others, they don't expect you to
Man, if I ever drive at home after learning here, I will lose my licence on day one haha.

When you graduate to a real scoot we can talk son. My first was a '96 Vmax, then I got a '94 sportster 1200. I currently am without a bike sadly. Hoping to get another sporty soon and turn it into a bobber.

Who are you talking to walker?

DUCATI MONSTER.

IMO I can't stand the monster. That's just because it's a standard bike. I'm not much into any other bikes besides sports and supersports. But that's just me

A guy and a girl were speeding over 100 MPH on a road on a motorcycle(Girl) Slow down we are going too fast, I'm scared!(Boy) Come on, don't worry, I know what I'm doing. Ya having fun right?(Girl) No.Please stop, I'm really scared!(Boy) Then tell me ya love me. (Girl) I LOVE YOU! Now please slow down. (Boy) Give me a hug. *Girl hugs him* (Boy) Can you help me out here? Take my helmet off and put it on you. It's bugging me. Now you may think the boy is a jerk, but the next day in the paper it said this: A motorcycle has crashed into a building due to brake failure, two people found but only one survived. The truth is halfway down the road, the guy realized that his brakes broke. But he didn't want the girl to know.Instead he had her say she loved him, felt her hug one last time... Than had her wear his helmet so that she would live, even though this meant he would die.

this isnt what the thread is asking but its a story about motorcycles which is really pretty sad. btw i would get a motorcycle but my mom wont let me
