personally being a republican this is my oppinion. democrats are butting in when they don't need to. capitalism is based on the fact that people will go to countries that do them right and the economy will straighten itself out. so let capitalism do its work instead of spending and spending. which they also think will solve the national debt. you can't spend money to pay off money. they intend to raise taxes and only cut spending by a couple million. the higher taxes get the more people will cheat on them. if you lower them more people will pay in full and you COULD get just as much money. also you need to drastically cut spending.

Decreasing taxes (while sounding awesome), never leads to decreased debt.

A reductio to this could say that decreasing taxes from 100% would decrease debt.

Sorry for the triple post.

if we add more parties it will be like some european countries were a while back. so many parties that each one only had small support bases and no one could keep power for very long.

Is this bad in itself?

Correlation =/= causation.

Before women got the vote, there were no nuclear weapons.

I've got another:

"Statistics show that of those who take up the habit of eating, very few survive."

whoever was in power was a weak leader because he had a small base of support. so say there are 5 parties (back then there were about 20) if one party had power the leader of that party would have roughly 20% of the population's support and the other 80% was trying to overthrow that party. this led to the chaos and civil wars. so in this case there is actually is a direct connection and in fact did cause it. now i realize that we are a bit more civil in america than certain other countries and that times have changed but the fact is that it wouldn't be pretty

(it is only really designed for a 2-party system, unfortunately - if it wasn't, then they'd get more votes).

I have nothing else to say, but, why can't it work with more parties?

The reasons that have been given for multiple parties being a problem are the same problems we have with only two parties.

not really...at all. these two parties have kept power essentially the entire lifetime of this country.

That makes no sense...I'm of the mind that Americans are terrified of change. Which is ironic.

What, this?

I don't believe that fearmongering is a reliable answer to my question. Canada has multiple parties, we're not trying to kill each other. Want me to list a few more countries?

we also have many parties, but there comes a point where a party can't hold enough power to successfully control a country.

Yes I am aware. However you only have two MAIN parties. There lies the problem.

Debt=Money
Money=Debt
That's why America has so much debt because debt equals money. Paper money is actually worth nothing since is created and destroyed.
