Ok, any Halo fans out there have asked themselves, will there be a Halo 4? The Master Chief is alive, and although the Covenant's leadership, and a significant portion of their fleet met their end at the Ark, the galaxy remains home to billions of Grunts, Jackals, Brutes, low ranking Prophets, etc. There has been ODST, and the prequel, Reach, but the plot hasn't continued. Who thinks it should? Who thinks it shouldn't? And most importantly, has anyone been able to shift through the large amount of garbage on the internet for concrete info on Bungie's plans for the series?
Halo as we know it with Bungie is over. The halo trilogy covered the human-covenant war, and that's that.
Seeing as how Microsoft instantly made 343 in charge of everything Halo post-Reach, I'm guessing that the new studio will make a halo game within the next three years, probably chronicling the next saga of the Chief.
I enjoyed how Halo ended in halo 3, and I enjoyed how Bungie cut off ties with Halo in Reach, so I'm a bit iffy on how 343 will handle the series. I just pray it won't be like Call of Duty, Sonic, or Guitar hero.
I must say I agree with jeol's last post. And on the topic of Halo books, I've read 3 of them, and they were very well written. The only one I wasn't so big a fan of was Cole Protocol. I do agree that one more book would tie up the series nicely.
It would be nice if it was all wrapped up in a book or maybe a good quality cartoon movie but unfortunately this is a world of business. We can probably expect to get bombarded with crappy spins of it until no one every wants to the words Master Chief ever again.
Bungie already said that Reach was their last game. However, there might be a book on it. Who knows. I also might be included in the movie, if the do make a movie.
Yes that was Bungie's last game true but rumors have it one of the other companies that helped to create halo will pick it up.
Bungie is right that Reach is their last game because the halo series got bought by 343 industries, and yes they are making Halo 4. Though 343 isn't making it just supervising it. They're using some of the things from Reach. It's going to be a good game. I still don't know what the story is, but this is what I think: Master Chief wakes up from hibernation(or whatever he was in) and is in a covenant infested world. He soon realizes after defeating hundreds of Covenant, that he is on Planet Reach. Then he goes search for any other Spartans that were thought to be 'gone'. Then he restores Reach back to it's normal place. I haven't played Reach, but I really want to. When I do I will add on to this. For now here are some side games that Mtv made which I thought was cool: Halo:Covenant Play on the bad side for once and win some battles. Halo:Grunts Play as a grunt and just try to make it from one side of the battlefield to another. (mini-game of Halo 4 would be nice) Halo: Skulls After killing Covenant all day would it be nice to play a little Easter egg hunt Marines vs Covenant where you have to collect all the skulls to win.
Halo 4 is likely to be made even if it shouldn't be. The trilogy is nearly wrapped up completely(all thats left is why Master Chief's number was on the memorial), they've covered the spartans origin and what happened to it. Since people love the sound of money Halo 4 will likely be made and will also likely break the Halo series. I'm not sure they will change many mechanics but they might change some. If there is a Halo 4 i do hope it covers what happened to Master Chief and thats it but a book could do that much better.
If you watch all of the credits on Halo 3, Master Chief accually survived. Half of the frigate Chief and the Arbiter were in was cut of in the portal, the Arbiter made it because he was at the front of the ship they were in, and Master Chief was in the back of the ship with Cortana. The Arbiter made it back to earth but Master Chief is still floating in space in Who-knows-where with Cortana. At the end he tells Cortana to wake him up when someone found them. She said it would be years. So he puts himself in Cryo-sleep and thats it. He's still alive.

wolf1991, i think you mean, Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary, and guys, why you gotta be hatin' on Halo? its an amazing franchise/trilogy whatever, that has succeeded on sooo many levels, many people still play it, and it isn't like cod where it is 'one shot kill' all the time, Halo is Halo, Halo is unique, fun, addictive and IMO, im really psyched Halo 4 and HCEA is coming out!
