A dead one!!! (jk, that's mean) Honestly, I'm more of a dog person, but as long as cats don't wreck all your stuff, have claws (to scratch you), stink (basically, are they potty-trained?), etc. I'm okay I guess.
My parents had cats during most of my childhood, and they never just broke stuff for no reason. Maybe it happened that they accidentally knocked over a flower or something, but even that was rare.

Despite growing up with cats, I don't think I've ever really been hurt that badly by one. Most cats are actually quite friendly.

Cats are pretty much born potty trained. You don't have to teach them or anything, they just use the box anyway, and when they're done, they try to cover it up with sand. They're one of the cleanest pets out there, and the best at taking care of themselves. This does not, however, mean that they don't like to be around humans, even if that differs from cat to cat. Two out of three of the cats we had were extremely social, and the other was very, very independent.
Anyways, favorite type of cat? That'd have to be Norwegian Forest Cats. Their first cat was one, and he was just so adorable. They're a little bit bigger than normal cats, and they have pretty long hair. They're quite adorable, and the cat we had was extremely friendly too. When you'd pet him, he'd actually start drooling. That was kind of hilarious, really.
