Hey everybody, I'm rather new to this 'community' thing. And recently, I was browsing through a lot of the threads and I stumbled upon on about Dejavu. I myself had a question about that, so I posted it. But then another member responded that bringing old topics (the one I responded to was 2years old) back is something that you should do. So I was wondering what I should've done..Should I've started a new thread, althoug there is one already?
yes. if it was two years old, that is definitely way too old to bring back. just make a new thread. a good rule (i think cenere told me this) is if it's beyond 2 pages back, don't post in it. i think.
Generel rule of thumb would be three pages or two weeks, depending on the section. Inactive sections will have threads on the second page, that can be up to a week or two old, so better check three pages there, and make a new thread. The Tavern goes through a lot of threads over a week, and, while the thread might be inactive, there is a good chance some of the vets will remember the older one, if you make a new on the same topic, so there, it will be a good idea to look a week or two back, which can be seven to eight pages.
However, always do remember that we want revivals, not necros, if you are going to post in an older, inactive thread. Good quality, long and intelligent posts, which new points would be a revive. Can't have them zombies around.
