Basiclly you have to find a song that goes longer than 4-5 mins. Just write the song, how long it goes for and who sung it. Ill start:

I know there is a song that ticks towards 2 hours... Ah, here it is: The current longest piece of music being recored is Longplayer. It has been recording for the last 11 years. And it is due to end in 2999. Look it up at Longplayer.org. That's from Answers.com. I guess it is just some recorder sitting somewhere picking up nearby sounds. I'm not sure if you'd classify that as a song or not, but it's pretty remarkable.
Innagaddadavida (sp?) by Iron Butterfly is 17 minutes and change. There's a guitar solo, a drum solo, an organ solo (!) and a little bit of silence in the middle. It's a very trippy, but very awesome song

tarkus-ELP all of the in the court of the crimson king has some semi long songs, not to long though 2112 by rush is a VERY long song 6 degrees of inner turbulence is 42 minutes long. its rediculous
long is a virtue. what is long to someone could be very short to others
it is also affected by experience. for instance; delossantosj knows a 42 minute song. i could have never thought there was a 42 minute song in existence.
this makes it impossible to have accurate calculations of a "long song".
however, u can make an educated guess on how long a long song is based on what others think. (if i just blew your mind, talk a walk and dont think about it)
