I'm not going to be sarcastic during this topic, i find it very serious since your money is at risk.

I know somebody has posted a link to an article, but I'm going to type a response and inform you.

-----------------------------

Directly from PSN's Blog.

Although we are still investigating the details of this incident, we believe that an unauthorized person has obtained the following information that you provided: name, address (city, state, zip), country, email address, birthdate, PlayStation Network/Qriocity password and login, and handle/PSN online ID. It is also possible that your profile data, including purchase history and billing address (city, state, zip), and your PlayStation Network/Qriocity password security answers may have been obtained. If you have authorized a sub-account for your dependent, the same data with respect to your dependent may have been obtained. While there is no evidence at this time that credit card data was taken, we cannot rule out the possibility. If you have provided your credit card data through PlayStation Network or Qriocity, out of an abundance of caution we are advising you that your credit card number (excluding security code) and expiration date may have been obtained.

What you should do is change your credit card information, or tell your parents to, and change your passwords immediately once PSN is up.

I don't use Qriocity, actually I find it kind of pointless with things like Itunes out there. but if you have a Qriocity account change your password on there too. Along with all that info your email has been compromised, and probably passwords to that.

I am really disappointed in the way Sony is handling this, why they waited almost a week to say they've been hacked... I don't know. But I'd rather not get into a Xbox vs. PS3 debate. I haven't heard a ton on this, just that everything is stolen, all of it. This really only matters for Credit Card info, as identity theft absolutely sucks.

Sony is at fault here, as they have not put up a good enough firewall to protect the PSN, and it is generally unknown how the heck they got into the PSN network. This may have been an 'inside job', some guy at PSN trying to make huge profit by selling personal info, and honestly, besides money, I see no motive for these hackers.

I honestly am a bit freaked by this, and I encourage you to get all your info linked to the PSN changed. NOW!

My suggestions are to change the password for everything that uses the same password as your PSN login (if any, of course) and monitor the activity of your credit card until it's known for sure whether such info has been stolen as well. As soon as you can log into PSN, change its password as well.

I suppose this is a good reason for me to finally delete my card info from the sites that have it by now.
