A sticky is when the topic is the most important and it gets stickied so that people read those for information.

There is even a sticky in the Newcomers Forum called READ THE BOLDED THREAD WITH REDDISH ORANGE PUSHPINS! because that is the description of a sticky. Just like normal threads, stickies can be locked.

It is a magical little function that makes the threads invisible to the majority of the users. The ones that do see them will be compelled to spam it, and not read the first post.
