I personally think zombies have been overused in many video games. Here is a list of a few games that use them. 1. Left For Dead (1 and 2) 2. Black Ops 3. Plants vs. Zombies 4. Wolfenstien (I dont remember which one but there is) 5. Doom (Very old game) 6. Resident Evil (all of them) 7. The House of the Dead 8. Dead Rising 9. Call of Duty World at War: Zombies 10. Dead Space (1 and 2) Those are just 10 of the hundreds made. What do you think of this? Should new enemies be made or should zombies be improved to the point they can add a greater challenge by wielding weapons instead of overrunning you?

Well like I said, There Are tons of non Zombie games, I only have like 3 games out of the 32 I have that are Zombie game. If you own a bunch of Zombie games, they are hrd to appreciate.
Well for a fact zombies aren't overused. I mean yes there are a bunch of stuff related to zombies. But who doesn't enjoy taking an Olympia and getting a head shot or a guitar swing it and decapitation. Also they make great for movies for example i love the new dawn of the dead. And there something about zombies that get your adrenalin pumping. The thought of surviving making a cure taking a freaking snow plow and going 50mph down time square during a zombie apocalypse. But the chances are that a zombie breakout will happen or not because of the freaking crazy thing these scientist are coming up with. But maybe by the time that happens well probably have a colony on mars. Also if all else does work. Chuck Norris wont be around. But yea those are my thoughts.

Zombies aren't overused. They're just most suitable characters for that type of game. Everyone love taking a grenade launcher and destroynig everything in sight. I mean it's much more enjoyable to kill stinky, slow, stupid zombies than horde of unarmed/armed people.
As I read in an article in The Escapist it showed how in games they can't make the player feel the danger of being INFECTED not killed. The thought of being turned into a zombie, I feel(that phrase sounds retarded) would be worse than just being killed. That's really the whole point of zombies. They may aswelll not even be zombies. Just bogans with a disease that would love to kill you. Idk. But yes, The Escapist made an epic article about it. ~L
I like games with zombies, but I haven't ventured out into playing that many zombie games. Only games that I've played with zombies in them are; Resident Evil series, Call Of Duty series, and Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare. Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare is fun because it's GTA with zombies.
They are overused because, well, they are a simple enemy. I'd say the true ORIGINAL zombie game would be the Resident Evil series, but I'm sure movies also had some influence.
For some people, it's not about playing all day and getting slaughtered at an online game (llike any online FPS) until you are good, it's about having fun with friends without much skill involved. There's that element of just Zombiecide where you have fun or blow off steam just by kkilling Zombies by the truckload (Dead Rising does a terrific job of this), while others actually give you a challenge ( L4D2, Nazi Zombies to an extent). For most shoote rgames, it's all avbout killing the baddies who also have guns using a traditional style of FPS; for most FPS zombie games, it's more strategy bsaed and a great way to blow off steam.
Zombies, my dear friend, are awesome. You dont know why? Well, humans love to imagine how they're going to die. Don't ask why, but they do. So, some guy, decades ago, decided to make something, fairly close to home, not aliens, or far-fetched or anything, but to where, it can be emitted by a virus. So, the zombie virus makes humans stupid, strong, and hungry. It makes un-infected humans look good, because they can take out hundreds, just with a few bullets. (See Zombieland) Zombies, are pretty much iconic to Americans, just like Romania has their Vampires.
Woah, woah, woah! Hold up a minute! DOOM was amongst the FIRST zombie games EVER! So to say that it's overusing zombies is like saying I'm an idiot! It's not right! And Dead Space has Necromorphs, not zombies. Plus, Zombies are just fun! When is there a game where you start in a zombie apocalypse and don't know the story, trying to figure it out with easter eggs(Nazi Zombies)? So, zombies ARE overused, but for a good reason. And there's just something satisfying about taking a shotgun to a member of the Undead and blowing out it's brains, throwing a grenade into a cluster of zombies, and just killing them in general!
Yeah, but Plants vs. Zombies, Resident Evil, and Left 4 Dead used zombies in a unique, fun way. All the other games copied off of them because they ran out of good ideas and waited to take the same boat-ride of success.
