you have to... (shudder) DELETE YOUR OLD GAME BEFORE YOU CAN MAKE A NEW ONE!!! ps anyone ever made a character throw nukes and cast the giant spell on them?
By "New Game +", I mean a new game that preserves some of the progress (maybe characters and/or weapons?) from the old one. I'm asking because the only walkthrough I could find of this game using Google recommended using New Game + once I've beaten the game on one of the difficulties.

@spartandestroyer: It seems unlikely I'd have to delete my old game, seeing as there are 3 save slots. You're sure about that?
P.S. I intentionally haven't read the entire walkthrough so as not spoil the game; but I have done a search for the + symbol.
It's true that you have three save slots, but you still have to overwrite the game that you're starting from. The process isn't frightening -- you select new game, then the slot of the game you completed, and then "start" (not "erase". There will be a warning dialog that tells you that you're going to keep your looted items, and then off you go.
To be clear, you get to carry over the classes, toons, and weapons from previous games, but you lose all of your hero customization and gold. So powerful army but only 200 mana.
Just do what mwdaly said. It worked for me. I've now beaten the game on all three difficulties, and had fun killing the demon lord without summoning a single unit.
