If you want a very good anti-virus programme (that has protected me from all forms of viruses) and you are willing to pay yearly try, Eset Nod32 - it's worth it.
The same thing happened to me but it affected my computer in a different way. Mainly what it did was rip out files on my computer and jeft me with not much but it appears to be gone. The sad thing is is that I had no antivirus or backup files so i'm left with the tattered remains.
