I've found 2 new bands and I'd like for those of you who are willing to try them out and see if you can find any particular gems that I may have missed (as muh internets suck during the daylight hours)....
The first one is named Vanden Plas... I was told that they're German. Its hard for me to pull up vids so I'll just name them. From the album Christ 0 Fireroses Dance January Sun
Band number 2 is dubbed... Seventh Wonder... now this singer here has a voice that just makes your jaw drop. From their album The Great Escape (giant spider on it) Wizeman The Angel Maker The Great Escape (30 minutes long >) I've only really been able to delve into those albums b/c of my limited satellite internet. so if you happen to find anything from any of the others that you really like please do tell.
Have any of you heard of these bands before?... I know we have some that are open with their love of metal... and I'm sure we have a few closet metal heads around here somewhere too. What do you think of the bands?
Hahiha, Delos, Daycee... and to all the other musical experts
as i listen to seventh wonder (the great escape), they are very very very good. its nice to hear a modern prog band that doesnt have a cheesy singer that belongs in tthe 80's. deffinatly adding to my library
you should try listening to Dubstep, and Escape the Fate. Dubstep is a totally revolutionary sound, and it will seriously blow your mind. Escaape the Fate is an awesome alternative sound, and my favorite song by them is Not Good Enough For the Truth in Cliche They are a mixture of screamo, rock, hip hop and pop. Pretty crazy stuff.
They have a big black spider on their latest album.... WIN!!
Apart from that, SW sounds great. My first impression was a similarity in sound and voice to the band Dignity (only album they have now is Project Destiny), only better. I had a listen to the other albums too, only a few songs, and I must say album two and three are fantastic too. They actually are more melodic on The Great Escape; the albums Waiting In The Wings and Mercy Falls are in my eyes slightly more progressive and sound even slightly better (imho). You may like the songs Taint The Sky and Banish The Wicked from second album, A Day Away("happy song"^^) and The Black Parade from the third album.
Oh and if anyone needs a proof of the singer's talent: here's a song that is a very nice ballad, mainly sung, with few instrumental lines, which stresses his voice even more: Pieces
The Black Parade! I love that song. And Paarfam, you are entitled to your opinion, and I am entitled to mine. I personally love Escape the Fate, but a lot of my friends hate it. But then, no band is universally loved, so its not really a big deal when a person dislikes it. But Alesana, Blue October, Evanescence, Never Shout Never, and Lost on Lemans are good. Lost on Lemans has two band members that go to my school, and they play at prom next year
I understand what you were getting at Delos about the other thread... the participation in it just seems lacking sometimes... but then again i haven't been very active on it myself... so I'll change that a little.
and Hahiha... I figured I'd ask the Swede about the Swedish band :P...
from what I've read and been told... Tommy the singer of SW has even helped Kamelot some with help of a few others since Kahn quit and went back up to Norway to be with his family(...you will be missed kahn :'( ...sways while holding up lighter).
I think we've found a new band for the metal bands world cup next year
