As you all know, Modern Warfare 3 (As in the trailer WW3) will be hitting store shelves worldwide on November 8th this Fall. It will surly be a huge hit and make billions but what you may not know:
3 count them, 3 studios will be making the next installment in the juggernaut of FPS shooters. Raven Software will be making the single player, and Sledgehammer Studios with Infinity Ward will be constructing the multiplayer.
BUT, Activision has fired Jason West and Vince Zampella, the fathers of this series and masterminds behind the mega-smash hits Call of Duty4: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. 35 other members of Infinity Ward, many who were there from day 1, also quit and followed Zampella and West to form Respawn Entertainment, a new developer under publisher EA.
Activision claims that there loss was filled with many employees but is IW still the same developer we all know and love? Is it really just a name now without the team captains? Will they excel and make a masterpiece? Will they fail and collapse? You decide.
I lost my love for Infinity Ward when Modern Warfare 2 hit the shelves.
Activision is nothing good. They're known to be greedy, since they buckled up with Blizzard their has been much more retarded micro transaction stuff going around. As soon as CoD4 hit and the series became insanely popular they started taking insane advantage over it and personally Respawn Entertainment, if they make change from their mistakes will be much better off under the wing of EA.
Raven Software will be making the single player, and Sledgehammer Studios with Infinity Ward will be constructing the multiplayer.
You just got that completely backwards, Raven is doing the multiplayer, infinity ward or what is left of it, and sledgehammer are doing the singleplayer... Also the game will still be run the same outdated engine and the graphics will look terrible compared to Battlefield 3. I sense a major disappointment for anyone who buys it.
Pretty much, Cod4 was the only "Modern Warfare" game worth getting, because they actually spent time on it. They're just pumping games out to get money now. When did MW2 come out, not more than 2 years ago. What good game have you ever heard of that took such a short time to make?
Time isn't always the factor - sure, it definitely helps but I feel it's more to do with effort - balance is horrendously badly done. It isn't that hard to see what things may be fixed and it's worse since the gun traits shown (the bars with accuracy, mobility etc) are no accurate. Give a rating of 100, and the actual numbers involved making that guns traits is the rating - then explain if it's good or bad. Is recoil 70? Can you get better?
Is accuracy even something to think about? Aiming down your sights is for distance and short distance doesn't have much noticeable hip-fire difference with another gun (of the same classification of weapon).
Also, you don't just want weapons being the same - change them depending on what kind of player you are. High mobility low accuracy sniper? Why? Because you want to be in and out with the assassination. Low mobility exceptional accuracy? You're picking them off.
How difficult can it be? Damage rarely scales with play style, most of the other traits do.
mw2 and mw was good games until the hackers got into it but i got a feeling mw3 will be exactly like mw2 but with probably new maps and probably some new guns and probably modified versions of the same guns (like how the famas was in black ops compared to it in mw2) and probably the same perks
I'm kind of pissed that this game is going to come out in November. Now great games like Elder Scrolls V Skyrim will be ignored and everyone will buy MW3 -.-
I expect(or at least hope) that Sledgehammer(the guy who started in was the co-producer for Dead Space) will do a lot better of a job than the greedy, MW2 era, Infinity Ward. As for Raven, I have no idea, never played any of their games...
that Sledgehammer(the guy who started in was the co-producer for Dead Space)
eh... why that is false...
1. Dead Space was published by EA 2. Sledgehammer is an Activision subsidiary 3. Activision and EA are like medieval England and medieval France 4. Sledgehammer was created for the production of Modern Warfare 3, much like how 343, a Microsoft subsidiary, now oversees everything Halo
