Could you first explain the question? I don't fully understand what you are trying to ask... sorry.Do you mean you are ahead of him AP-wise, but he's a higher rank? Also, can you provide your friend's account? I think that would help in some way.
Ranks can take a day to update. So you can have more AP but be a lower rank.
The site has to update the ranks of everyone who gains points in a day. you cant expect it to update every time you gain some points
