Hello all. Your Friendly Neighborhood Satanist has more things growing on his chest than Pamela Anderson after a trip to the plastic surgeon, so allow him to remove yet another one.

Well, if you could guess by the title, this thread might be painful, but stick with me; it'll get intense.

I'd like to discuss Sports games, the stuff by 2K and EA that recreate odd formations that people take outside with variously colored and sized balls.

But first let me make something apparant to all of you.

I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I consider myself a pretty skilled gamer. I beat Lou on Expert in GH3, I escaped the suicide mission with losing only 3 unnamed crew members, I beat Halo 3 Legendary by myself, I was the top scorer in RD:R shootout with Expert on, I didn't think Portal 1 was too mind-numbing, I've saved the world from Russia in CoD, Bad Co, Civilization, End War, and Total war, I've even defeated Crawmerax the Invincible. With that kind of record, I like to think i can beat about 65% of the Gaming Community is a 1v1 Brawl march.

Yet today I faced an enemy I could not defeat, even with the odds stacked as high as the Empire state building's gargantuan brother against him, I cowered in fear before his might.

I'm talking about, of course, The San Diego Padres.

No matter how many times I go through the practice mode; 2K's MLB 2K9 installment won't let me beat them, despite using the Yankees.

So... why is this? Am I really not as good at games as I say I am? Is there some weird talent to Sports games?

Another odd thing to ponder; I don't yell at games usually. I used to when I was 8, but then again, I yelled at a piece of dust when I was 8 because It looked like Moltres. Today I found myself screaming at the game yelling such phrases as "Do it Jeter!" and "Get to the god-**** base!" even "Suck a chode Ump." made an appearance.

So, what is it about this odd genre of games that makes us scream and lose our minds, when in the past, we have accomplished so much more than simply winning a virtual ball game?

Sports games are frustrating and the only people who are good at them are no good at actual sports.

I yell at sports games too. It's weird. A lot of 'cmon cmon cmon cmon... OH MY GOD HE MISSED D:' and great moments of relief.

sports games, an enigma of formations and tactics, what you have to relise about most of these games is, the creators dont want it to be to easy, when you a rather good portion up the computer will react by playing a whole lot better, and when your playin poorly and a down on the ol points, the computer will start to "make mistakes", its in the programming, it also benifits you to get more passes or throws in, possesion + skills = goals
