Actually, they both preach part of the same message, but after Jesus' sacrifice the object of Christianity switched from living by the Law to living by grace. And God told the Israelites to wipe out the Canaanites because that land, Canaan, had once belonged to Israel and God wanted to give it back to them. Not to mention the Canaanites were a pretty nasty and evil people, too, probably a threat to the other peoples in the surrounding area. Arg, I be off-topic again...maybe we should start a thread about this.

Well, this is backing up a bit. Christianity has a much bigger issue with homosexuals than Judaism. There are gay rabbis, you know.

I can not remember the exact details right now...but I do recall something about there being openly g.ay priests or preachers or something like that in the Christian order. Not the child molesting types, just your good ol' normal kind. Although that could bring up another point in the Christian-homosexual argument....

I would be amazed if there were openly g.ay priests. I can't even understand why Christianity has issues with women moving up on the ladder. It just seems so ridiculous. And the way they view sex as well. Okay, not to go off on a tangent.

But if you step back, the view of homosexuals now is similar to mixed-race couples years ago. It is absurd to think that men died for dating outside of their race.

I think they do, atleast after they are ordained as on. Before that, go for it I suppose.

Why? I know more about the written 'history' of the religion...but my guess is to keep them pure? Not sure if anyone actually really knows why.

Since paganism has always elevated sexuality to an almost divine status, Christianity wanted to make themselves different so relegated it to the opposite.

A lot of Christians say that "Sex is a gift from god", blah blah blah, but they ultimately are agents of sexual repression and guilt and it just doesn't work.

I still don't know if that is true, you should never just never care or you'll never gain because you never stood up!

All i know is that all the homos are goin to hell...so what does it really matter...

Guthar why would you do and say something like that. just because you aren't into the opposite sex doesn't mean you are going to hell at all. I know and respect homosexuals and if you would take the time to open your eyes you would see they are just the same as you and I,if not nicer. XD
