even tho there's the whole christian thing and i'm christian i don't really care if someone is gay. they're still a person they're not like a kreacher or something.
Just because a person has homosexuality with them, doesn't mean that it's bad. This is one of the many many reasons I dont beleive in god or other religouns because if a god cannot exept that two of the same gender love each other they are against what he thinks and are thus considered a "smear" on gods shoe for it? I am not preaching but just because somewone is gay, doesn't mean they don't have feelings or other beleifs of their own. I am a guy and personnaly, I am not very suddle when a few gays are in the same room, I am okay if they are my age but no older. Quite frankly, I have a freind that is kind of bi and he has been one of the most great of freinds i've had. So in conclusion homosexuality is nothing but a state of mind, and that certain one shouldn't be critisized by somewone who hasn't seen it happen.
Well since the Chrisian faith is against homosexuality, i shouldn't be with it, but some gay people were born that way. They can't choose to be strait. Those people had no say in it. I guess i dont have a side.
Since other, visible thread were locked, Megamickel copy and paste viewpoint and repost in original thread. Praise Bill Gates for invent ctrl+c!
I'm hardcore Christian, and yet I've still yet to believe that homosexuals are sinners, unless they commit adultery. Which we almost force them to do in some states. But even still, if the church wants to deny them marriage, the government has no right to interfere, as the church and state must be separate. The only place in the Bible where homosexuality is SPECIFICALLY condemned is in Leviticus. Which is ceremonial law. Which really doesn't apply anymore.
That is a great way of looking at it, and I can;t say that I disagree. People tend to take the Bible word for word, and read into every detail. I think that if people want to follow what it teaches, then they should focus on the overall message, not nit pick the little things.
If I took the Bible word for word I'd have to be an atheist... I'm too science-minded to believe God created everything in seven human, real-time days. It's symbolic, not literal, and people fail to realize that. At least, that's my belief.
Of course, I have it WAY easier believing in the Virgin Mary than anything the CoS churns out, but that's a debate for another thread. Attempting to stay on topic here, Leviticus is the same book where such things as the eating of pork and not circumcising male children are condemned, yet they're not applicable anymore. I'll have to get back with exact book and chapter, but Jesus basically said that ceremonial law isn't, like, applicable anymore...
I follow Megamickel on the first part. I also think that adam and eve didn't actually happen. That story was used to explain how the world was created.
After u said that second part it made me think. What makes homosexuality any different then the circumcising thing? It's just because sooo many people think that gay people are weird, so they think that it is wrong.
