I thought that Armor Games could use a prayer list. Most threads on here have to do with people explaining why god is not real, yadda yadda, but I think it would be nice to have a thread where people could post their problems. Basically, you would write about your problem, other people would see it, and they could pray for your problem to be resolved. One voice is strong, but it always helps to join together to help someone.

Since I started the thread, I suppose I will start the Prayer List.

1) Japan, of course.

2) My grandmother. She was in Massachusetts and fell down a flight of stairs, shattering her jaw, breaking her foot, her wrist and forarm. She is 70, and this is a serious accident, and I hope she gets better.

Feel free to post your issues. Hopefully this can become official.

My dog recently died of stomach cancer. It was completely unexpected and happened in a single day.

My aunt is currently in remission from cancer, and the doctors are saying that it might come back soon.

Also, please no haters on this thread. It sort of kills the mood if people start saying that no matter how much prayer you offer, nothing will happen, and all that stuff.

I'm not going to hate but I'm also not going to pray because I personally believe that it's silly. I do, however, offer my deepest condolences to those who have lost family members or pets and my sympathies to those with other problems.

These people are a huge problem, not just for America, but for people the world over. I pray to an uncaring god that they get shut up.

you seem to have had a problem with your hyper link... or at least I can't view it for some reason. (yahoo404)

The link has a censored word in it. Type in the British word for "cigarette" in place of the three asterisks and you will be able to access the URL.

the westborro baptists are a group of people that everyone has distaste for... not just atheists who use them as the poster child for the reasons why religion in general should be killed.

maybe one day they'll have an epiphany one day and realize that they don't have to hate so much.

Trust me, athiests dont need to use those nutters as a poster child.

Anyway, I can see this thread derailing already. There are plenty of threads with the god debate. Perhaps we should leave this alone?

This isn't supposed to be a debate on whether or not God exists. This is for people to share possibly tragic things that have happened to them in the near past, such as someone passing away, or for someone who is sick.

I know I posted earlier in this thread, but I forgot to do one thing.
I am assuming that this thread is non-denominal (accepting prayers from all religions), so I would like to post the Mi'Sheberach (Jewish prayer for healing) for all of the people who posted sick relatives above, and for those who post sick/dying relatives in future posts.

Mi shebeirach Avoteinu m'kor ha-bracha L'imoteinu.
May the Source of Strength Who blessed the ones before us, help us find the courage to make our lives a blessing, and let us say, Amein.
Mi shebeirach imoteinu m'kor ha-bracha l'avoteinu.
Bless those in need of healing with refuah shleimah, the renewal of body, the renewal of spirit, and let us say, Amein.

This is the version from Debbie Friedman, who recently died this year.

Yes. Praying isnt christian only, many religions have there versions of it. So pray to whatever god, deity, being, or cult you follow. I aggre that people do not need to post how they hate this religion or how this god doesnt exist.

I will be praying for all of you who had a tragedy happen recently that your lives will be easier and you may be able to let the tragedy go and move on from the past.

Perhaps this should be moved to the Tavern and then all off topic posts deleted.

I know when I come to the WEPR I have a vastly different attitude than that of which I have in the Tavern, also, as this is not really a debate but more just a place to put these down, it doesn't really belong here anyways, even if it is related to religion.

Well I feel sorry for all of you but I'm an atheist so I own't bother with the praying. My life has been going pretty much Ok with absolutely no praying so I'm going to see if not praying keeps my life the way it is.
