I think that dogs are better to play around with, since they do a lot of tricks and such. But again, I'd like to have both.. it's hard trying to choose one since they are both great animals.

I'd have to go for cats. They're definitely the best, in my humble opinion. They're cute and fluffy and cute and fluffy. I love cats. Yes, you should get a cat for a pet.

By far easier to take car of than a dog, plus cats are fluffy-er.

I would take a cat, I have three. But one that I have is starting to scare me. He tried to follow me into the bathroom.
Another one is so fat he can barely get on the couch.
The third one brought them into this world, and could take them out.

I would like to have a pet Metroid.

Got to go with the dog. It's Man's best friend and we didn't domesticate a friggin' wolf for nothing.

I prefer dogs because they show their loyalty in more ways than cats.

Cats are just pretty much completely overall the better pet. So I would get a cat.

I suppose both have their positive attributes.
I prefer dogs since there are so many varieties for whatever lifestyle you might have. If you're active as heck, you could get a sports dog. If you're lazy, then get a very docile and lazy dog as well. They also seem to have more loyalty.
While cats are always apathetic to everything, it is fulfilling when they actually take a fancy to you.
