This is a bad idea, it makes typing in websites harder. Why should this matter in the first place?

This is going to make things very complicated.
It works fine the way it is, i don't see the need for change.

If it isn't broke, don't fix it. That will just make things more complicated. In this case simple is better. If everyone can customize their webname things are going to get way to confusing. There would be many websites with the same name and the only difference would be what came after the dot. You don't know where you could end up.

It could be kind of cool, but it's probably just easier to remember .com

I agree: it just complicates things.
I don't any point in this thing about new extensions...

Then, facebook has a great new idea, facebook.kids
Want to know what your friends are eating?
facebook.food is for you!

Seriously it just adds a lot of websites in the mix.
Not to mention, the .com is so iconic
