What Race do you play?
What build orders do you like?
Whats your fave tactic?

I like to play as Terrans.
I cant remember my usual build order off the top o my head and it changes depending on my mood :P But I tend to block my base in with Supplys and build marines and marauders.
I like a good variation of units with slightly more of one i.e. Battleships, siege tanks, Vultures + Banshees, Dropships + Marines + Stim.

No need to put anything in order, I just did that cos I wanted to.

Highfire posted a great link in another thread for Terran Strategy
There are also pages for Protoss and Zerg Strategy too.

Zerg.

9 Scout + Overlord
14 Gas
14 Pool
15 Overlord
15 Drone
@100% Spawning Pool, a Queen and Metabollic Boost
18 3 Pairs of Ling
Roughly 20-22 when Spawn Larvae has not popped and I have A LOT of money, expansion.

My favourite tactic is usually Speedling into Roaches, I don't use Spine Crawlers though I probably should and I always like to gain an economical lead. Aside from that, it usually goes Roach / Hydra / Corruptor and not much else is needed, if it is, I of course transition to it. I'm a macro player, I don't think I harass, at all really. Unless it's an enemy Zerg who fast expands.

Sounds a lot like Starcraft I. Don't you mean Battlecruisers, Siege Tanks, Hellions + Banshees, Medivacs + Marines + Stim? :P

Unless I'm just being picky, of course.
You're on the campaign, right?

and Zerg Strategy too.

Of course I use this one, I prefer 14 Gas Speed which is usually against Protoss but there are other builds of course, +1 Roach Speed Opening (vs Zerg) is probably a good one, I haven't tried it though. If you're looking for vs Terran then you could go the 2 Hatch 5 Roach Economy Build - using the Roaches for defense.

Sorry for the lot of Links, all from Liquipedia. We could use some situations you have or some tips you may need because talking about our own replays would be pretty lame

whoops, I mean vikings, not vultures and when I say dropships I mean the medivacs. They are just better drops to me.

I have, however, found the hellions to be very useful against zerg, specially the ones that mass attack. I still need to get used to the units as the campaign doesnt really teach you how to PvP, what with the upgrades and extra units.

I also generally macro as my micro is quite bad. Its not that I cant do it, I just get so into attacking that if it fails, I realise I didnt actually keep my economy, base or troops building while I sent my attack.

One situation I had was me and my Zerg Buddy, PaPyKoG, against another Terran and zerg. The zerg sent 2 lings straight away and I had to disrupt my economy to kill them. Bad start right away that wouldnt have happened if I had blocked my entrance.

The terran meanwhile had blocked and had 2 raks with whadyamkallits, build 2 guys at once thing. He was building ten marines and sending them in every time. Slowly wore me down and eventually was past the point of no return. The zerg player was starting to send flyers in, but we hung on to the bitter end, I even built another base in my friends base and after that was gone made another base somewhere else. I dont give up. Ever.

Looking at the replay there was one point we had more troops than them and a counter attack might have worked but really, they controlled the map and took advantage of our slowness.

I guess the lesson I learned from that was block my base and get my barracks up faster.

Apologies for double post but for terran tips, I thought I should add that I usually put my Commands on Group 0, raks on group 9 and my supplys on group 8. Everything else changes depending.

I also have a mouse with 2 extra buttons on the thumb and use one for ping and the other for "select idle worker" instead of the F1 key.

Haha, nice.
Vikings are awesome if you ask me. :P

I'm afraid you may be misleading me a little. It works a little like this to a guy used to Multiplayer (me :P ):
P = Protoss
T = Terran
Z = Zerg
When you say PvP, I think Protoss vs Protoss, not Player vs Player :P

Macro > Micro usually, especially when you get to the point where you have so many units losing an additional one due to lack of micro means very little. :P

The terran meanwhile had blocked and had 2 raks with whadyamkallits, build 2 guys at once thing.

2 Rax with Reactors spawns 4 Marines at a time. Ouch. :P

Slowly wore me down and eventually was past the point of no return.

Whilst you did point out that you messed up by not blocking the entrance I feel that building 1-2 Bunkers with SCV's repairing would be very effective. :P

Of course I was not there and as such can't really give good tips - maybe he broke your first line of defense, I don't know.

I dont give up. Ever.

Depending on your League this can be an excellent idea since it is possible to still win. However -- at higher leagues it may be more fair (and not considered bad-manner) to simply GG out. :P

Looking at the replay there was one point we had more troops than them and a counter attack might have worked but really, they controlled the map and took advantage of our slowness.

Quite often you always ALWAYS wanna counter-attack, if they have more men, ya run. If the Zerg has Speedlings then that may not be such a good idea, though.

Or a unit generally faster than your own. Which at the time was Mutalisks, I guess. :P

I guess the lesson I learned from that was block my base and get my barracks up faster.

Good job spotting the problem that caused the situation, not the situation itself.
Rax up faster would be very nice, here's a few builds for different races (the Terran one I suggest you use):
Orbital Command Opening:
10 Supply Depot
12 Barracks
13 Refinary
15 Orbital Command
15 Marine
16 Supply Depot

Protoss 4-Warp Gate Rush:
9 Pylon
12 Gateway
14 Assimilator
16 Pylon
18 Cybernetics Core
19 Zealot
23 Pylon
24 Stalker
26 Warpgate Research
27 Gateway
28 Sentry
30 2 Gateways
31 Proxy Pylon
First, I'm not sure it's 23 Pylon, and second, this was before the Warpgate Research had increased research time.

14 Gas Speed
9 Overlord
14 Extractor
14 Spawning Pool
15 Overlord
@100% Spawning Pool, a Queen and Metabollic Boost
You can MOSTLY go from there, though I get 3 pairs of Ling, then a Drone, and then go from there -- I expand at roughly 20-22.

I thought I should add that I usually put my Commands on Group 0, raks on group 9 and my supplys on group 8.

I think you should have your keys easier to reach. I have it like this:
Early game:
2 Scout 3 Hatchery 6 Overlord
Building up:
1 Army 3 Hatchery 4 Hatchery 5 Queens 6 Overlord
Mid-game:
1 Army 2 Secondary Army (easier micro) 3-5 Hatchery 4-6 (straight after Hatchery) Queens
Late-end game:
1 Army 2 Secondary Army 3-9 Hatchery (although I may make a few macro hatches instead of Expansion hatches) 4-0 Queens

I also have a mouse with 2 extra buttons on the thumb and use one for ping and the other for "select idle worker" instead of the F1 key.

Well played good sir!

Usually in most games I would agree, you can spend ages looking for one silly building. At least SCII sorts this by revealing the base if Command not built. Mind you, I doubt I will be getting into higher leagues. We shall see.

When your talking about the builds, what do the numbers mean? Is that the order of things?

When I have more time I will post a bit more.

It is the number of supply you have - 10 Supply is when you build a depot, 12 is when you build a Rax. You usually just build SCV's unless it tells you specifically to build something else, in the Orbital Command Opening it doesn't need that since it's an economially defensive opening imo. It does open into a lot of other builds.

Mind you, I doubt I will be getting into higher leagues. We shall see.

League you are in?

I've had clutch games back in Bronze, one was 50-odd minutes where eventually I had 10k minerals (I was terrible) so I just went-mass marine, because I saw it from this video.
From YouTube, awesome game if you ask me.

My second game was when he quick-tech Muta'd me when he was one base, I was 2 I think. I just split up all over the map and using some micro as well as good timing / stalling, I got enough Hydralisks out to defeat his Mutalisks.

I'm Zerg now -- and I love it!

This was 6 months ago, I haven't played recently so I don't know any unit speed, range, time, cost, ability, energy, etc changes. I played 1v1 random mostly, although I was best with Protoss and worst with Terran. Platinum was the best back then, I don't remember what the top was in each category, but I had a eagle for the image of the section.

Eagle is indeed Platinum. Now they've added Diamond (above Platinum), Masters (above Diamond) and Grandmasters for 1v1 (above Masters) - which is the top 200 players in a region.

Random? Nice.

If ya want I'm gonna be free for a few games, infact I just finished a mod of Starcraft II -- Footmen. I was winning but then my base got cheap-shotted, so I'm not very happy :P

Have fun dude, my names Pride on there by the way. Character Code is 860

My character code is 739.

On a side note: I utterly despise the way they messed up Bnet. Starcraft 1 had the PERFECT system for online games, now it's stupid and it takes a lot of effort to play games with people who are not friend coded, and is far more annoying to add said friends and communicate. A seperate window to talk? That's LAME. Why couldn't they have left it as it was?

Not all of it was bad but yes I do disagree with the "No LAN" and etc they've brought through. I'm going to add you on B.net now.
