you heard it correctly, the supreme court has ruled against Californian's decision to ban violent video games.

now most of you are wondering, lol wat is the supreme court?

dont worry about that, what you should care about is the government can't prevent you from playing a video game because you are exercising the first amendment!

now for the few of you who are interested and know what the supreme court does and understand how it works

Even better, this is (hopefully) the final nail in the thread that video games and other media stimuli influence the behavior of children. California's case rested on that one fact, and the fact that the ban is overturn shows that no one buys it.

Wow. This has to be the single best case for video games everywhere. Well, at least everywhere in the U.S. The subject of video games being a stimulus for aggressive and/or violent behavior has been rebuked multiple times by many prestigious psychologists, social scientists, and neurologists. But an overwhelming majority of the scientific community refuses to sway in their belief that nothing good and everything bad comes out of video games. This ruling (by the country's highest level of court, no less) should be the final nail in the coffin in the case against video games.

Finally! Remember the public outcry the NO RUSSIAN level in MW2 caused? You could skip it without penalty with the option to skip it both before or during play; playing it gained you nothing; you didn't have to shoot anyone unless they were armed (in foreign copies you get a game over); it was rated M for Mature (not mild). People still complained because it scared their underage kids.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, here's a link to Wiki:

Wow...

A lot of what happens in America influences the rest of the world. So if American decides that Video Games don't have any affect on violence in children, then I guarantee you that other countries are going to follow suit. 'Well, America said... so I guess we shoul do the same.' Like it or not, it happens, it happens all the time. America is a big influence in the world, so when we mess around here, it affects over there.

Really? I thought Europe was more like. "Haha, foolish Americans again! They so stupid!".
