This was awful to watch, mainly since i watched the movie before i read the book. I did not expect that ending, very upsetting.
I was lucky enough to be at one of the first screenings of the movie and one of the guys responsible for making the movie adaptation of the book was there. He said that they'd toyed with the idea of changing the ending to make it a little less upsetting but, in the end, they decided it was best to preserve it in it's entirety rather than 'cop out' and deliver a Hollywood ending.

I'm glad they didn't change it, even reading the book after i watched the movie was upsetting. I think the movie delivered excellently on the books story.
There is a gigantic list of movies that have made me cry... I dont cry in day to day life, but when it comes to movies i'm hopeless. I've cried watching: Titanic, Wall-E, Up, Click, The Box, I've cried twice watching My Little Pony:Friendship is Magic (thought i'd share that even if it isnt a movie)... and a ton of other movies. I cried when i saw the end of Remember Me, and i didnt even watch the rest of the movie!
"I Am Legend" I have not seen, but that seems sad. But, what about a movie based on a dog, and that dog has to be put to sleep? I'm talking about "Marley and Me". When Marley had to be put to sleep + them showing the kid watching videos of Marley + powerful music building and building and building = me crying silently. D:
The Pursuit of Happyness, i just cry in that movie. man, Will Smith know how to make you cry in that movie and in I Am Legend when he says "Hello me" to that doll :3
