When I try to play certain games (examples are Skinny and Colour My World) I cannot move at all. I can use the mouse, but when I try to use the arrow keys or WASD nothing at all happens. Other games (like Ultimate Assassin 3 and Where Am I) work fine. I don't get it. I'm using Google Chrome and Adobe Flash version 10.3.181.26, if that helps. This is a problem in AG2 and AG3. I'm kinda mad because I really want to play those games!
Chances are, it's not a problem with the website, but if it is, the first thing you always try is clearing your cookies and cache, and logging out and back in. If that doesn't work, try restarting your computer. If that doesn't work, try reinstalling flash. If that doesn't work, try a different keyboard.
I don't have any problems with lagging at the moment either... =/
As far as I can see, you have the latest Flash player version installed, so that's not it! =)
I think the problem lies with your computer... it probably has difficulty processing your keyboard hits accurately in real time. Normally it's 0.0xx of a second processing time, but when you have an older computer combined with a newer browser and flash player version, they might present problems with relaying the data...
Computer restarted, newest flash player installed, cookies/cache cleared, logged off, then on, and still not working. And it can't be my keyboard because the arrow keys work on other games. I think it's what MrDayCee said. But my computer isn't THAT old! (I think.)
EUREKA!!! It's the browser, Google Chrome. I've got it. See, on Google Chrome I have Flash player version 10,3,181,34. But on IE, I HAVE FLASH PLAYER VERSION 10,0,22,87!! So it's the newer flash player version. Thanks!!
Okay... just to ease you out of the dream here... whenever you buy a computer and leave the shop with it, it's already outdated! There's so much new stuff coming out at the moment that you need to keep working on upgrading your computer 24-7 in order to try and stay on top of the game and still... you're behind on the newest gadgets, programms, hardware, etc., etc...
So, don't feel bad about your computer being 'older' (whatever the mileage on it is), just try to stay clear of the heavier games or games that use the newest flash player... And if you don't feel like doing that, simply 'take the pain' (always wanted to say that somewhere!) and play those games with some form of lag...
Good luck with it! And remember, you're not alone out there...
OK. But this lag is too much. It's like maybe 30 seconds after you press a button, the thing happens. And there's glitches like permanent jumping the WHOLE TIME, just because you tapped the up button once.
It doesn't matter too much though. It's not even that many games. And anyway, I think we will be getting a newer (not new computer soon. Thanks so much!!!!
Some games are either memory intensive or just terribly made which would mean these games would lag like this because it's using to much of your computers processing power.
I would be surprised if he goes to such lenghts for a flash game :P
I did that... =P
GET A NEW COMPUTER
Yeah... it doesn't sound that serious.
What I would do is try the game on a different site. If it works, the file the game dev submitted on AG might be missing something. If it doesn't it is not your fault.
What I would do is try the game on a different site.
That may work, and I'll try it, but I think that it is just the computer. It's old, it has a low amount of RAM, (would that affect it?) and the memory is full to the brim. (Would that affect it either?)
It either has terrible lag, or nothing at all. (actually, maybe when I think it's not working, maybe it's just a lag so BAD that it would take minutes for the character to do anything)
I'm using a different computer right now, so I'll test those games.
Hold on...
Works perfectly! No lag, the controls are fine. I am 100% sure now that my computer is the problem. Thanks everyone!!!!
