I've played since 04/05 for a few years and taken breaks then played again and half a year or so ago I decided it's all the same and boring as hell.
And now they messed up the economy because everything is now 1/10 of what it used to be a few years back (e.g D chain used to be like 25m)and this is because of everyone having high stats from RS2 being out for years and boss hunting is accessible to alot of people now so more people are getting drops and autoers getting anything they can the amount of items has increased diagrammatically but the number of players hasn't (well IDK but I'm pretty sure it wont have changed much)so acsess to used to be very rare items are easily obtained now I personally think they should make RS3 (They are on RS2 now) so all the should be rare items are still rare and people wont be maxed on everything but they can leave RS2 running for anyone that wants to keep there stuff and are afraid of starting again because I know people will complain and cry about if they have been spending every day getting a skill so they can do some emote that lasts a few seconds but resetting RS2 and making RS3 with slightly better graphics and new areas and bosses and items would make the game so much better and attract more people to pay for it and play it they could even put races in the game like dwarf elf and human etc so that not everyone would be the same and each race would have different attributes so you can't just max out everything each race has specific stats they can max but the others you can't completely max as such and they could make armour and weps specific to each race making even more variety in the game.
If they did all this I would play again until then I'm not going to.
I used to like playing it, but since they brought back free trade, bots infested RS. Price plummeted down, due to bots nearly endlessly raising the supply while demand stays the same. Also Jagex is getting very greedy.
I've never played it, but I've heard a lot of negative things about it, like when someone says they're going to play Runescape on chat, someone else usually says "Ew, you play Runescape?"
because they have never played it and think it's cool to not play a game millions of people play because they are trying to be different theres nothing wrong with it but it does get boring
Played when the game very first came out... i was pretty young... definately not 13 haha, but i liked it and then a friend ninja'd the account and i went back around 07 and made a 95 skiller, was pretty fun and im glad they brought back free trade... people are complaining about prices dropping? It helps a lot of newer players and seriously a 10k limit? That was super lame, i use to give away armor sets at cows and usually steel-mithril because of their levels but i couldn't do it anymore... otherwise it was fun for a short while.
I only heard about it last year, and played until i was level 30something i think. I haven't played much recently because i go through phases but i will go back to it. It gets boring if you play it obsessively but i actually like it. I like the -forgets the name-, the trading place?
Although the last weeks i was on it, i just collected and sold feathers lulz.
The one and only thing i've ever disliked about Runescape is their membership fee. $6 a month isn't bad, but, continual pay add up. In a year, you've spent 72 bucks. The most i've ever seen a game sold for is around $50. I would definitely get membership for it if it were a one time payment of $50, or 72, w/e, but, continual pay just plain sucks.
I've also never understood the hate that everyone gives the game. It's definitely not a bad game, there's lots of things to do, it's a game for all ages and different from some of the more popular games lik WoW, but it definitely is fun to play. I think it's more of a, "Oh I heard someone call that game bad, i've never played it but I think I will too to sound cool."
I stopped playing in '09 when Jagex ruined the economy. They made some shops have infinite supply, and then got rid of it, so the Supply went crazy for awhile, then the Demand shot through the roof. So there was a crazy amount of goods for a year when they had the infinite goods, so the prices for everything dropped. So demand died, and then suddenly the supply died, and demand stayed dead. So my marketer guy had a bunch of really expensive items, that he couldn't use, and that no body wanted.
Jagex screwed the game, and I've stopped playing. Plus, its rather boring to sit around for a few hours trying to get from 69 attack to 70 attack. At high levels, all the game is is just grinding.
in most of the responses, people use the word boring, but because here aren't many other accurate descriptions of the game, i will instad use "repetitive"
