Hey there and welcome to the stats build thread! The title of this new thread pretty much says it all. What is your favourite type of build you most commonly use in games such as RPGs?

Are you:

An offensive warrior brave and bold, able to wield the slashing sword or the crushing axe against the mightiest of foes, prepared for any encounter with little care of anything else except the victory of battle?

Or the elusive ranger, a skilled fighter lingering in the shadows, the dexterous bow-wielding attacker unmatched in distanced combat and a true artisan of the spear and daggers striking their enemies in a whisper?

Or are you the wise and mystical mage, a great adept in the fields of magic, a master of the elements and devastating conjurer of destructive spells that only they could command?

And these are just a handful of the many amazing and wondrous builds which have been created and used to wipe out their opponents. So why don't you post what build you enjoy the most and even suggest a whole new creation of you own?

Depends what sort of RPG like when I used to play runescape I was melle because thats the strongest hitting type but in some other rpgs like fable I find range is better because you can just keep ur distance.

Name some other RPGs and I will say they all differ for me.

Well, going on my experience on fable 2, I am mostly even, although I am more of a warrior, but I can be good at ranged weapons, and am decent at magic. I'm usually a person who likes to hold back an army like on fable 2, I can hold off 90 bandits with a stick, because my guy is just that fast at moving, although I will get hit alot.

it really depends, I play many RPGs and they all have different perks for each build. in Runescape I prefer melee as do many other people because you don't have spedn so much on consumables such as runes or arrows plus they have the best armor. In WoW, I'm choose a paladin because it's a nice mixture of both magic and melee. I can pick things off using Exorcism or hit something over the head with a two-handed mace. It all depends on the game.

I usually play either as a rogue or some kind of archer, when possible. I always thought speed, agility and dexterity was much cooler than just raw strength, and I happen to love stealth.

I'm a defensive player by nature, so I always tend to go for stealth. (Though, I usually roll a standard "warrior" type to learn a new game's mechanics.)

But in general, I play rogue/assassins.

My favorite thing is to optimize. I'll try to build a mage as strong as possible in magic, a warrior as poweful and defensive as possible, a thief will have speed, etc. It's like asking what would be my favorite stat; it depends on the character which uses the stat in question. If it's a game where you get to decide what you're character's going to become, such as fable or fallout, I'll often go for a balanced character.

Imagine if I told I loved offensive builds only: would I try to raise a Shuckle with lots of attack? That's just plain stupid. Really, it all comes down to the character/situation.

my favorite is a mage. not only the magics are usually very strong, if you know how to use them you can make them stronger, learn new helpful magics, sometimes heal, and even inflict halping status. i guess im more into thinking before acting

I always like to play the one who has the most powerful attack. So usually warrior, but in Hands Of War 2 wizard was had the most powerful attack.

In Diablo II, I tend to use a necromancer. I can summon minions, poison my enemies, curse them for my gain, and die 50+ times on the same boss.

I suppose I would be an elusive ranger. WoW is the only RPG I'm playing right now and my main is a hunter. But I like games like Dragon Age where you have a little bit more customization and can create a somewhat "hybrid" class; mixing in a little bit of different stuff to create your own personal build.

Ah, not quite what I thought the opening message sounded like but nevermind. The idea for this thread was not to choose a build from one of those I previously mentioned in the original message but your type of playstyle in some game you've played.

Some examples are like in Fable 2 I enjoy hanging back from the main fight and commotion by sending in the raised dead and knocking off the enemies one by one from a far. But in Fable 3 I am more of the spell caster and melee fighter, using spells to hold back my opponents while I take care of my closest threats.

Sorry for the confusion ^_^

I rarely use magic because I think it's a cowards way to play I always go either melle with a bit of range or pure range
