In a nutshell, a thousand years ago some mythical beings broke their world's most sacred laws. They were banished to a dimensional prison. During that time they mastered the power of the elements-flame, aqua, miner, lunar, solar, freeze, and nature- which were previously known only by the most powerful mages. They've escaped, and are bent on revenge. The humans have already been wiped out, and every living thing left is about to be thrown into this war.

You don't find anyone special, but a minotaur notices you and leads you into an alley. It turns out he's a Deathmonger, and he's willing to kill to get the item in your hand.

The fight's pretty much over. Going carefully around the angry soliders, you find a village up in the trees. It looks deserted, except for a fresh deer carcass on the ground.

After finding out when the inn closes I try to find another job to earn some more gold.

The Inn's open 24/7, so you've got plenty of time. However, nobody has any more jobs for you to do. The deer sets off a booby trap. A rope hangs you by your ankle and something hits you in the head from behind, knocking you out. When you regain consciousness you're surrounded by natives. The chief, a burly bipedal bunyip (yay for alliterations!) snarls something illegible at you and points at you with a dangerous-looking spear.

They probably know about the fight and don't want to get in trouble. I try to find a place where Pheonixracers are being requited.

You find a run down pheonixracer camp. Most of the soliders are injured pretty badly. The leader notices you. He eyes you warily as he fumbles with his sword.

The minotaur ignores your question.
"Give. It. To. Me." he roars. looking into your hand, you see that it's a strange-looking pendant. There's multicolored stone in the middle. Suddenly, the minotaur charges at you. The amulet flashes and creates a barrier that stops the minotaur in it's path. Then you're somehow far away, in front of a strange building.
