Why are we here? Are we meant to be here? Is it our choice to be here? These are some of the biggest questions in the world, and to discuss it would be interesting. I don't, however, want any comments like:
NO! YOUR WRONG! ILL TELL YOU WHAT LIFE IS...
You can't really know. I just want to discuss it.
Please feel free to leave your honest opinion.

Is it our choice to be here

I can only think of two ways to answer.

1. No, it's not our choice to be here because it was our parents who chose to conceive us.
2. Yes, it's out choice to be here because technically we have the capability to end our own lives.

Why are we here?

I don't believe there is any reason we're here other than whatever weird confluence of cosmic and evolutionary events that have led to our existence. I'm perfectly okay with chalking up our existence to a series of primordial, intergalactic evolutionary coincidences. To that end, it seriously bothers me that people think they are somehow special just because they are people. It's a level of conceit that I simply cannot relate to.

Are we meant to be here?

I don't quite know how to answer that. If you mean "Did someone or something put us here for a reason?" then my answer is no. See above. If you can give true meaning to your life then you're well ahead of the vast majority of humanity.

Is it our choice to be here?

Again, not sure how to answer this one. You can kill yourself, so in the most literal sense then yes, it's a choice to be here but one has no control over the actual creation of one's own life so no, it's not our choice to be here. That's sort of an odd question.

Why are we here?

Because we are. Simple fact, no goal or reason behind it.

Are we meant to be here?

Well... we were born here, and we have to live here, so we're kinda meant to live our life here, but it wasn't the decision of any deity of spirit or fate or whatever.

Is it our choice to be here?

We didn't decide to be here in the first place, but it is our choice to stay here or not. We could leave the place we are now (geographically speaking), or we could kill us, to not be around anymore. But since there is nothing after death, we might as well stick to this life and do the best out of it.

The reason we're here (i think) depends on your beliefs. You have 3 choices
1. Religious fundamental: my god made us and thats why we are here
2. Darwinism: We are simply here because some aminoacids happened to start reacting, proteins were formed, life began, and then evolution eventually created us
3. Mix: The whole bonding of amino acids and evolution happened, with a little nudge in the right direction from a divine force

Life is carbon compounds in combination with electrical impulses.

Why are we here? Are we meant to be here?

Both those questions are the reason for religion

Let me clarify. Why are we here is obvious. Are we meant to be here is if we were sent to do something for some divine creator. Is it our choice to be here is a complicated one. Some people believe in reincarnation, and I was thinking, what if we had a past life, and we had the choice to live again or go to the afterlife?(Of course, there is no proof supporting that theory, but no hard evidence against it.) Those last two questions are religious, so if you disagree with religion and are atheist, it's fine not to answer. Lastly, do not feel the need to stick with those three questions. If you have any big questions your itching to ask, don't be afraid to post and see what people think.

Why are we here?

Organic compounds formed and merged sparking various physical interactions and emergent properties resulting in our existence.

Are we meant to be here is if we were sent to do something for some divine creator.

Since there is likely no divine creator how could we be? Even if there was we haven't received any clear, verifiable instructions from said deity.

This is an assumption on top of an assumption. We would first have to have evidence of a soul that transcends physical life. Given we have no evidence of such a thing existing we can't say such a choice to reincarnate exists either.

Here's a good question: Why do we value life so highly? We are to die eventually anyway, and as far as we know, nothing we do in this life will make our afterlife, whether it be a religious afterlife or a state of nothingness, any better or worse. Yes, we can make predictions that sound appealing and maybe even give us a sense of purpose, but most of us do not believe them fully. If we did, we would not think death was a sacrafice, and we would welcome it.
Nobody knows; is this why we value life so highly, because it's all we know?

By the way, there wasn't a religious or atheistic meaning behind my post; I'm simply putting forth some thoughts that might be worth discussion.

Why do we value life so highly?

I'd say it's the instinct of self preservation. If people wouldn't want to live then the human race would have gone extinct long time ago.

I agree with grimml on self preservation. It's the state we can exist in and be aware of that existence. During that small window while we do exist in a living state we can make things better or worse. in both the short and long term.

I agree it depends on your belief as for me:

Why are we here?

To make this Earth a better place!

Are we meant to be here?

Yes we are meant to be here.

Is it our choice to be here?

No it's not our choice and never will be.

As for the EverDead guy:
Life Is H.E.L.L

Just wait till you die and you will see the actual hell

Life is what we make of it. Some people live life to make the most of it, to make themselves or other people happy, to succeed in a certain mission or objective, to have their name remembered for when they are here no longer, etc. There is no absolute explanation for life because for each and every person the answer varies.

Does the ability to kill ourselves not count as choice though?
