I was going through the headlines of roadrunner.com because it's my main page when I open my internet. I noticed Casey Anthony at the top of the page below the bar that says News Local Finance Sports etc. I clicked on it and it came up with this page: At the top of the page it says:
Casey Anthony Famous Criminal
A criminal is defined as "one who has been convicted of a crime by a court of law". The trial is still going on. You can't post that someone's a criminal because they're "likely" to be convicted or you want them to be. That's libel.
What upsets me is that they're being the judge and jury with this case. How many other cases will they get away with doing that? How many other lives will they damage in the future? I mean even when someone's proven completely innocent or were only taken in for questioning, they're labeled as a bad person by the media. Look at what Nancy Grace does. I know they can stretch some things and get away with it, but this time it's an outright lie and they'll get away with it anyway.
I've contacted TWC by email, but I doubt they'll respond.

What do you mean exactly, i can take this in two ways lol.
who cares? shes free now i would know cuz all day every day on most tv channels the stupid trial is going on the local stations and i dont know what is going on in the world because it takes up time (most all of it) from the national broad casts... glad its over...
Now the jury has officially found her not guilty on any charges but the 4 misdemeanors of lying to police. The sentencing for those charges will be given Thursday. The media is still going to be adamant about the original charges of 1st degree murder.

Watch CNN right now. They're not backing off. I doubt they will any time soon (at least untill another person is arrested for something big). I'm sure Nancy Grace will have a helluva time arguing the verdict tonight.
She's free of the charges of murder and child abuse/neglect and all other felonies and will still probably never be given a job anywhere, or get any respect anywhere just because the media pushed that she was either guilty or going to be found guilty for months.
Well, since they put it up before the trial ended (it was actually up before the jury was deliberating), it was illegal for them to label her as a criminal. If they had done it after the trial, then it would be technically legal because she was found guilty of criminal misdemeanors. But since TWC posted it before the trial was over, it was libel.
I'm watching CNN right now. They're saying over and over that the jury was completely at fault for being wrong. They're even making the excuse that the defense's table was positioned in the room better than the prosecution's table

Wow. How desperate can the news stations get? I totally agree that it was not the jury's fault, but the fault of the prosecution for not providing sufficient evidence.

I relate perfectly to that. The media nowadays is often interested more in moneymaking and tabloid spreading than reporting the actual facts. This reminds me of the "Dewey Defeats Truman" banner that was published on the front page of the Chicago Tribune during the election of 1948. Of course, this inaccuracy didn't ruin lives, as the presumptions today end up doing...
Casey should sue TWC. The money that she would get off of that would be more than enough to cover for her unemployment due to the media ranting about her "guilt."

I agree, but I doubt she or her attourneys read AG forums.
