I'm in the web design field and I saw for the first time today, a Wide Screen Website, not sure if that's the proper name for it. But, I'm taking a survey for myself to find out the best dimensions to use to make a wide screen site. It would greatly help me if you could tell me what resolution you use on your computer.

WUXGA Widescreen Ultra Extended Graphics Array A version of the UXGA format. This display aspect ratio is becoming popular in high end 15" and 17" widescreen notebook computers, such as Apple's 17" MacBook Pro. This is the native resolution for many 23"-27" widescreen LCD monitors. 1920Ã-1200 (2304k) 16:10 32 bpp

Yes, I've seen that. I'm trying to get information on my own, I feel it would be more accurate.

Ah, so this is something of a survey? Hmm.. You might want to reach more sites than AG.

I don't use a widescreen resolution. I use SXGA (1280Ã-1024). I have a plain old 19" LCD monitor.

My screen resolution is 1680 x 1050 pixels on my stationary computer. That's 16:10. I don't have my laptop right now, but I can check what resolution I have there later tonight or tomorrow.

Anyways, even a normal website works just fine on a widescreen monitor, so I don't see why special widescreen web sites are necessary.

My total screen is a 1600 x 900 display. I'm not a web designer, so I don't know the specs you're looking for, but the 16:9 aspect ratio is what the newer screens tend to go for as a pose to the older 4:3.

I'm on my laptop now, and it has 1366x768 pixels. That's 16:9, I think.

Thank you for the responses so far, I am posting this on other Forums besides AG as well as asking other places. The majority of people so far use 16:9. A few 4:3 and 16:10 as well.

1440x900, which is 16:10 to my knowledge.

It's pretty nice, but you should just develop in the 4:3 standard. Anyone with 16:9/10 will view it just fine.

On one computer (the one set up on the internet), it is 1440 X 900.
On the other computer, its about 1600 X 900, I think.

Same here, I think that that is a common resolution for laptops. It is the standard for hd laptop screens if I'm not mistaken...
