What has so many things done for us in this world today; Computers have benefited us have the ability to send messages around the world. Cars and other travel machines have benefited us travel from place to place. If you really think about it, these things and etc are great and all but also come with disadvantages. I place the past examples in play; Cars have also exhausted the world and plastered it with its horrible gases. Computers have caused a lot of trouble around the world as well. Many people have considered and attempted suicide over the internet of known and embarrassing posts of them doing inappropriate actions. All the wonderful and resourceful benefits of the world also cause horrifying and dire disadvantages.
Did you ever think or still think that some of these things were never needed and some of 'em have more disadvantages than benefits??
Depending on recent or past coincidences, do you think some of these things, (if possible) should be banned from the world??
Would the world be a better place without them??
*It's probably still an open game, but I don't really plan on having people who spam or just write plain crap on this thread. It wouldn't hurt to try and keep them away.
You pose a good argument, good friend :P However this logic can be argued into most thing. Medication has benefited people - it has also led to an upsurge in drug abuse.
Did you ever think or still think that some of these things were never needed and some of 'em have more disadvantages than benefits??
Well, one could argue they were never needed - people once lived without fancy cars ans high-tech computers. I think computers are more valuable in society though, but also more dangerous.
Depending on recent or past coincidences, do you think some of these things, (if possible) should be banned from the world?
Even taking into the consideration the dangers these things pose, i don't think they could, nor should be banned from our world. I mean some would say the internet is more trouble than it's worth, but it's advantages have become too valuable to pass up. Cars, yes they pollute, but efforts are being made to reduce this.
Most technology will have disadvantages but most of the time the advantages will out way the disadvantages. Technically, like Jefferysinspiration said, no technology was ever needed. Technologies should not be banned from the world. If we started to ban technology then most likely it would cause a domino effect and many technologies would be banned.
Technology is also helping fix the problems with other technologies. Now there are electric cars that help reduce pollution from cars. If cars had been banned because of pollution this invention probably would never had been made.
In other words technology should not be banned because then it will not be improved upon.
Oh well... disadvantages... You talking bout the fact that kids nowadays spend time online rather than outdoors and so on? You see, the way I see it, it's not really the technology itself that has disadvantages. It's people who are not smart enough so as not to make those disadvantages appear. Then again, it means that almost everybody is stupid. But hell, I never wanted to be smart anyway
This question pops up to everyone at least once in their life, I'd say. The simple answer really, though, is that no, these technologies should be added. In truth, every thing you make, say, or do, will have consequences. Some of those will be seen or viewed as disadvantages. Even something like making a wheel -- It's good to make a cart but you could also roll someone over with it [not too realistic, but you get what I mean]. Getting a stick is great, you can poke stuff, reach high stuff, but you can also make a spear and kill people. Yet, over the course of history, it is clear that as these technologies come and go, they show their best and worst abilities, but by seeing them, we only become more open to the possibilities around us, which propels us further on quests to remove the problems these new benefits create. Some might say it is an endless cycle, but it clearly isn't the case. Using technology, we've come to reduce world hunger by a lot. If the trend continues, it may be possible that one day there will be no such thing. In real life, you can always learn from your mistakes. Technology will do the same.
But also as most of these are true, It becomes a stupid debate on whether or not the world is at a economic failure. But, as you all said so far, things that are created has its advantages, such as the creation of economic leaders that supposed to...lead us in a positive direction.
