this has really been bugging me for the past few days and i thought id see what you guys think about this i know america and the uk have this thing going on, where we nick eachothers popular ideas so on and so forth but this time it really bugs me.
i just have to say that the whole reason shameless is so funny because its sarcastic and takes the micky out of chav culture we have a **** lol of in england.i really dont see how it would work in america, there no such thing as chavs in america!, that and the type of humour in america is so different to the uk, i really dont see how it wold work
I turned it on the other day and literally laughed so much at how bad it was. Sure, we bounce ideas of eachother but the US has failed with their attempts at shameless and skins.
The humor involved in shameless can't be portrayed by an American because it's straight up English.
English and American humor is totally different. I am from America and when I see commercials on BBC America for the Ministry of Laughs(MOF) I do not find them funny. I don't know what English people think of American humor.

They probably think the same thing of American potty jokes and whatnot. Not funny. Of course, we need an English person to confirm this.

yeah american humour is more about jokes and such while english humour tends to be a lot more about sarcasm really which is why us shameless just wouldnt work :S i heard they tried a us version of IT crowd and that kinda flopped... thought to be fair some shows like the us office arent that bad, (that and the us version has ricki jervaise who is really not funny at all...)
and yeah jeffery is right on the money there its funny how chavs arnt even known in america, when its really big here, thats why cher loyd got so far in the x factor...
