this is a tough one right here. what criteria are we basing this off of? our own?

because zakk is deffinatly the more technical skilled guitarist, but dimebag had much more influence to rock music in the 90's.

so i mean, am i supposed to base my vote off of technical skill alone?

No, its like voting in battle of the bands, you can vote for influence and skill also im going to post some sample songs by them

Dimebag Darrell

Cowbows From Hell
Walk
Cemetery Gates

Zakk Wylde

Fire It Up
No More Tears
In This River

In this river was written by Zakk wylde for his best friend Dimebag Darrell

well, i think my vote should go to dimebag then, for not having a single guitar lesson in his life, he sure is good at guitar. not to mention he was with one of the most legendary metal bands of the 90's. zakk wylde clearly has more "skill" but he just sort of floats around, hes never really made an impact

Oh man, this definitely is a toughy. I love Dimebags' style, but Zack Wylde can also sing. Hmmmmm, this could be a long time until I come up with a decission.

Ooh unfairly tough choice. Thought about it, and as much as I love the heavy guitars in Pantera, I'll put my vote to Zakk Wylde. He's considered more talented, is generally better known for what exactly he's done, and (my personal opinion) is the only thing that makes Black Label Society worth listening to. (While Wylde is great in concert, I sadly can't use that in a contest with Dimebag.)

Walk

Terrible song choice, I just now noticed that was there. Walk is a good song, but it doesn't compare to the solos in Floods, Domination, or 5 Minutes Alone.

Hmmmmmmmm, like I said before, this one's a toughy. But after lots of careful thinking, I'm going with Dimebag. I haven't heard Wylde play a solo like Domination.

Really great solo! But i cast my vote to Zakk Wylde he has more talent (Dimebag took a very long time to write solos because he didnt know scales wheras zakk does, like zakks music more to.

Dimebag Darrell

Cause i know him more than the other guy . And for good or bad is the bridge between "old" and "new" metal, all that groove elements sounds pretty cool though

Alright the second battle is between drummers. But I was only able to find one good thing to go by for one drummer so we're sadly only going by one song here per drummer.

The first one is the drummer for Fleshgod Apocalypse, his name is Francesco Paoli. Other people call him Octo Drummer. Now before you vote, take a look at Francesco's drum set at the beginning of the video, and remember he uses the entire set.

The Violation

The next drummer is from Morbid Angel. His name's Pete Sandoval. And before you vote, remember how fast he's pounding on those drums and keeping a beat.

Drum Check

So, let the voting for either drummer get started.

You know they say less is more, I'm voting for Pete. It's obvious these two can play with demon speed but i felt like he made a song on his own. He moved around the set nice and added different elements as he went along (although it was a drum check). It felt like Francesco had a heavier and faster kick, but it was just a lot of the same noise. (P.S. would have been easier if you chose someone more well known lol)
