The Xbox Kinect is a camera FOR the Xbox 360. It allows you to play on a wider variety of games that use the Kinect camera without having to use the controller so you technically play with your body. It depends on your own opinion if the gameplay is better with or without even with the advantages.
Examples of games: Kinect Animals, Kinect Adventures, Harry Potter (option to use controller or camera),Michael Jackson the Experience, Carnival Games, Kinect Sports Season 2 etc.)

its an extra that allows you to use your body to play games. the next version of kinect games should be better than the current ones

No problem. I actually have a kinect sensor and its quite fun (though you get tired if your not fit). I hope they make the sensor range smaller because we had to rearrange the whole living room for it to "see" us properly.

Remember the EyeToy on the PS2? The gimmicky &quotlay games with your body" camera. Very similar thing, but the Kinect has better technology and better motion detection.

Buy it. Kinect + xbox costs 400$ - 500$

a 4GB Xbox 360 with kinect only costs $300 but kinect alone costs about $125.

I have 250 xbox 360 + kinect + game and it costs 16 000 Rubls (~530$)
