TLS:UC is a pretty hard game . First off all enemies are zombies and dogs. *SPOILERS AHEAD* Game also haves few HECV Enemies [Bassicly Soliders].
Game willbe pretty easy till you get to Hospital . You should check every house you pass by. Espicially Police Departments. When you get to hospital beware of hordes.
HORDES: Sometimes u hear music that can scare you and after a big horde of zombies will run to you. Theres nearly no escape from horde . You can left them kill you . You will lose EXP but horde will end. If you move to other room they will follow you . If you go outside they will run from one side [ Left probably ]
Then from Hospital till Stadium game gets really hard. Your character must have always a melee weapon [Best any weapon from 17 Hit or Chainsaw but it needs fuel] Best weapons in this part willbe Pistols And Shotgun
After Stadium if you go loot in random houses you can find a good submachine gun Like Uzi or MP5 or even Assault Rifles
TIP: First King o Pawn shop you find try buying a assault rifle and use it with shotgun , it helps very much with hordes.
TIP2: If you find a safe house with Union city guards , you should ask one of them for quest of finding Richard. Hes body is in Subway [In the end] take the key from hes dead body and open weapon storage. It haves some ammo and good weapons
$$$SPOILERS AHEAD$$$ After you save Bethany from HECV you get to harbor. Skip first to buildings till you get to safehouse. Take the quest from JACK [Who strangely looks like main protagonist from TLS 2 ] and your wife should stay there. Go back and loot in buildings and continue your quest. With good weapons you shouldnt have any problems ahead .
TIP: On military base go right and walk in house. There probably willbe few zombies , kill them and loot from a military machine, you can find there a MACHINE GUN [very usefull at the end of the game]
So after you find all Items speak back to Jack and prooced to wall with your wife. after you pass wall better put on yourself weapons with biggest magazines . Horde will come after you . Dont try to kill them , just run. When your stamina will end turn to left and go back right but shooting the zombies. Thats pretty all. Game ends when you get on boat. just go right till you see a cutscene. [ its not a scary cutscene dont worry]
USEFULL TIPS THROUGH ALL GAME: 1. Use Surpressed weapons. 2. Use Weapons with biggest maganzines when horde comes. 3. Rifles are good also versus hordes. 4. Loot in houses dont skip them. 5. Take side quests too, they are usefull. 6. Look on details as bags , you can loot from them too 7. Dont mind if you die. Choose restart here always.

I have beaten the game, as it is fairly easy with melee weapons. I used melee only, just to make it easier, but once you beat it once I highly recommend that you go back and find all the stuff you didn't the first time around. I also recommend that you use this simple formula for easy game completion: Strength:7 Endurance:7 Precision:7 Luck:7
This is only recommended for beginners, and people that just want to play the game, not go for all the achievements. The game is harder with guns, as you constantly need to search houses for ammo, using ammo to try and find more ammo. This makes it increasingly hard to complete the game with guns-only...on the contrary, it is hard with melee because you need to get up close to zombies, but the don't make noise. But, really it is just up to your skill.
I think that the best combo (dont matter what place they in) is the Spec Ops-M4A1, and the battle axe. Battle Axe for general use. the M4 for silent long range kills and for times when zombies come through the ceiling. ALSO before you beat the game and do the last mission SAVE. you will be able to beat the game (satisfaction) and be able to have and RPG and kill zombies to your hearts desire.
I find automatic weapons are very useful. There's no weapon set- beating a game for the achievement is not fun at all. Once you get to the Police Station, you can really get some good weapons and some ammo. I also love the military base. But that's near the end. Once you get to the police station, you got it all cut out for you. Bows can also be used in case you don't have a silenced weapon.

HOW TO WIN: There are strategies to this game, as there are for any game in the world. If your level 7-12, the Sledgehammer (DMG-30/39) is the best weapon, or the Fire Axe (DMG-35/46).
Give your companion the Highest damage gun possible, or in later levels, the M249 SAW, because it is very heavy and weight does not matter for your companion. Use Silenced weapons when inside buildings, preferably the UMP45 or UZI, because smaller weapons have smaller barrels, therefore the barrel does not aim over the zombie's shoulder.
Keep only ONE handy pistol, preferably a suppressed M1911. If you have to delete stuff for room, Don't delete these things: BATTLE AXE KATANA AK47 PROTECTIVE ARMOUR (What I have listed in my Equipment) M4A1
TIPS: -Don't ever use shotguns unless there your only hope.
-Keep your Strength and Luck as your dominant stats. The searching skill may help you find better items in draws, but you get better weapons from zombies (if your LUCKY). And in later levels you will need Strength to carry your heavy weapons (Helps a lot).
-ALWAYS keep a melee weapon with you. Although, if your strength is very low, your in trouble.
-When in Survivor, keep your Endurance and Strength High
When your level 1-5, your best weapons are melee's and pistols. For Mid game players like levels 5-10, your best weapons are the ones that are reliable and have less noise levels, such as a High damage melee and a suppressed M4A1 or sub machine gun, which both use ammo you can find often. For players 10+ or finished the game, you would usually have pretty advanced weapons by now, so your sweet.
More tips: -Make sure you search EVERY house, EVERY draw from left to right from the moment you start.
-In Survivor, sleep often, it replenishes health and the healthier your player is the more xp you earn
-Cash is a valuable item that buys you critical components to progress through the game, that can be purchased in 'KING O PAWN'. Coins are non valuable, and have a garbage icon when you highlight them.
-Try to complete as many achievements as possible, they give you extra xp
-Don't use guns to kill zombies with riot shields, melee them in the legs.
Don't use melee's for zombies 'rampages' unless you have a companion with a powerful Machine gun. Use fast firing guns, or a rifle which instantly kills 3 zombies in a row if shot in the head, but be careful, rifle's have long barrels and slow reload time..
CHEATS: To get 'OUTTA MY WAY', shove that guy with the gun in the beginning of the game a few dozen times. He's aiming it at that other guy who is trying to open it.
Keep certain weapons in draws, because they wont disappear and if you need them you can get them. You can't put things BACK in draws.
If your stuck in a zombie 'rampage', press esc and save game and quit. You'll restart back at your location without rampaging zombies. --------------------------------------------------------------------
oh and also never leave the game without pausing. i didnt pause and i left hank and I dead on the floor. poor guy is sleeping with his father now. unfortunately i through out his old mans rifle
