TLS:UC is a pretty hard game . First off all enemies are zombies and dogs. *SPOILERS AHEAD* Game also haves few HECV Enemies [Bassicly Soliders].
Game willbe pretty easy till you get to Hospital . You should check every house you pass by. Espicially Police Departments. When you get to hospital beware of hordes.
HORDES: Sometimes u hear music that can scare you and after a big horde of zombies will run to you. Theres nearly no escape from horde . You can left them kill you . You will lose EXP but horde will end. If you move to other room they will follow you . If you go outside they will run from one side [ Left probably ]
Then from Hospital till Stadium game gets really hard. Your character must have always a melee weapon [Best any weapon from 17 Hit or Chainsaw but it needs fuel] Best weapons in this part willbe Pistols And Shotgun
After Stadium if you go loot in random houses you can find a good submachine gun Like Uzi or MP5 or even Assault Rifles
TIP: First King o Pawn shop you find try buying a assault rifle and use it with shotgun , it helps very much with hordes.
TIP2: If you find a safe house with Union city guards , you should ask one of them for quest of finding Richard. Hes body is in Subway [In the end] take the key from hes dead body and open weapon storage. It haves some ammo and good weapons
$$$SPOILERS AHEAD$$$ After you save Bethany from HECV you get to harbor. Skip first to buildings till you get to safehouse. Take the quest from JACK [Who strangely looks like main protagonist from TLS 2 ] and your wife should stay there. Go back and loot in buildings and continue your quest. With good weapons you shouldnt have any problems ahead .
TIP: On military base go right and walk in house. There probably willbe few zombies , kill them and loot from a military machine, you can find there a MACHINE GUN [very usefull at the end of the game]
So after you find all Items speak back to Jack and prooced to wall with your wife. after you pass wall better put on yourself weapons with biggest magazines . Horde will come after you . Dont try to kill them , just run. When your stamina will end turn to left and go back right but shooting the zombies. Thats pretty all. Game ends when you get on boat. just go right till you see a cutscene. [ its not a scary cutscene dont worry]
USEFULL TIPS THROUGH ALL GAME: 1. Use Surpressed weapons. 2. Use Weapons with biggest maganzines when horde comes. 3. Rifles are good also versus hordes. 4. Loot in houses dont skip them. 5. Take side quests too, they are usefull. 6. Look on details as bags , you can loot from them too 7. Dont mind if you die. Choose restart here always.

Since a lot of people are suggesting starting stats, i figure i'd give it my own 2 cents ..
i play on run and gun, so i don't care about rest or food except when its related to healing myself.
Custom Stats: STR = 10 ( carrying and melee) PRE = 4 ( thats the leftover points ) INT = 10 ( For Search and Smarts boost) END = 1 ( DONT CARE) LUK = 10 ( Crits and Search Luck Finds ) because see.. you can REDUCE stats you don't care about to ADD where you want them to a max of 10, and no one mentionned that so far.
4 starting skills : Search, Smarts, and both Melees ( or you can gamble one melee and pistols )
when you begin , search the first trunk to get the tire iron, then shove (for achievement) and kill the zombies you find on the way, search every houses, but only places likely to contain food and meds items in the beginning , you'll need them you have nearly no life due to low END.
when you reach level 3 ( skipping the usage of level 2, you gain achievement ) , put points in LUCK (now 12) and SEARCH (now 48). go back to the beginning and resume searching EVERY SINGLE thing you can find , before the end of the first quest i was already fighting with a non-dull hatchet and a ext.mag 9mm, and you will likely be finding the good weapons long before most people do you can carry 100 pounds , KEEP ALL TRASH and when you find a regular 9mm, keep it too , you'll need it for the tinkerer...(the nailboard is MEAN , but the silenced 9mm was duplicate by then ) after you're done with him, destroy it all, it'll never be useful again, and you can even walk naked until you reach the actual armor clothing.
Basicly start by putting points in LUCK till 15 and search till about 70-80, you'll be finding great stuff and tons of books from lucky finds and zombie drops ( BUT DONT READ EM ) Then switch to INT and Smarts until smarts hits 70 , your books are now worth 6 points each, and reading the ones you accumulated should give you quite a decent boost.
From there i usually use the pistols until i get the achievement for it, then switch to assault then to smg for the kills achievements ( for bullets i go to the pawn shop, i find better weapons than what he sells anyway, so i just buy bullets and 2-3 medkits if im low ) using the guns i first go for the heads ( headshot achievement, and the high luck makes the headshot crit achievement a breeze ), then switch to legs for that achievement as well. why all the achievements ? .. to get to the battle axe faster =), i personnally put points in Blades and Automatics and tank for my companion, to whom i equip the best machine guns i find .. when i'm low on life, i just tab and heal ( because YES you can pause a fight to heal , and since i tank, my companion never dies )
in my current game i'm just entering waterside ( getting close to endgame ) and here's my stats : Level 16 STR = 12 END = 1 PRE = 4 INT = 15 LUK = 18 Health 181, Stam 101 Blunt 61, Blades 71 Pistols 20, Long guns 26, Automatics 72, Special 8 Smarts 90, Security 71, Searching 119, First Aid 86 Fitness 28, Survival 16
Books that boosted searching ramped me up beyond 100 rapidly and with high first aid, the health I gain from food and items is so good that i can almost heal full when i'm near dead in the middle of a zombie horde ( they do end btw, there's just more or less zombies coming out depending on the danger level of the zone )
The 3rd achievement item is an overweight sniper gun, its best used by your companion because finding ammo is a pain ( i don't stop to grind xp or gear, the only time i moved backwards was in the beginning and that's it) but i don't like the fire rate so i don't even try to get it, once i got the achievements for the battle axe (some time before the stadium) , i'm set until i find a sharp katana.
most the game i spent downing Zed's 1 shot with melee while my companion backs me up or KillSteals from me =)
Enjoy ( but i wouldn't recommend this on Survival, since the low endurance is probably a real bummer for that one )
Do you mean companion? Actually, you CAN'T. And please can you fix your grammar? I don't understand it...O_O But you can only save Kelly or Hank when he or she is down then press G to save their butts.
