This isn't the ugliest forum I have seen, but no offense about this forum being too plain.
It needs more style and more topics as well as an 'Off-Topic' area and a 'Debates & Discussion' forum.
So it needs some more improvement, as I feel the forum is a good way to get heard in the community on anything and is a nice place to hang out and converse with others.
I've used forums since I was nine and I've experienced some ugly ones (this one is better, MUCH better compared to them) and I loved forums since then, and I used to go on them just for fun.
So if anyone else agrees with this idea and thinks it's good, reply on this thread.

Okay, let's see: This forum is more or less self made.
I don't know what other sections you want, but most threads of different topics will be able to go easily into what is there.
An off-topic section has been discussed and rejected a number of times, because "off-topic" often equals spam, which is disallowed.
Discussion and debate is what the sections, besides the newcomer's and the forum games section are about.

Besides, the staff is currently working on AGv3, and I suggest you go check out what they are thinking about for the forums there, as there is already a discussion thread on that topic in the appropriate section.

I also personally like it simple.

Many other forums i have seen are crowded and unattractive. AG has only the name, a tiny bit of info, and the post, they don't have all these tags, large quote pyramids, and signatures.

The tavern is pretty similar to off-topic, but with small restriction to reduce spam.

and a 'Debates & Discussion' forum

The "World Events, Politics, Religion, Etc." forum is where debates are usually held, but can be held of relevance to the topic. "Discussions" don't need a special forum because they can relate to specific topics. If you want a discussion about video games, go to video games. If you want a discussion about flash games, go to flash game.

I think it's pretty fine. I mean it doesn't really have to be awesome looking with an awesome background. It's mainly just for chatting, asking questions and answering them. If it were any different it probably wouldn't be so organized.

I think the AGForum is great. The categories are organized, the threads are useful and the mods/admins enforce the rules correctly (while the users follow the rules correctly too).

I like the AG forum. Simple and clean. Just what I want.

I'll be interested to see what the AG3 forum looks like.

For what it is, I think it's fine, though it could use a few extra features such as the facility to edit posts and the ability to follow conversation threads.

such as the facility to edit posts

I believe this was mentioned before, and one of the mods said they don't want this function as people can troll, advertise, etc. and then when the mods respond to someone clicking the flag, the person could have edited out the offending part.

There may be an edit option in AG3, and as for that problem, it can easily be resolved if they can see all the edits. Such as if you edit a post, it'll show somewhere near the post how many times you edited it, you can click the little thing and a window will pop up showing the previous edits.

Well, as for these forums, I like them, they're neat, and well maintained. There are enough sub-forums for topics. Only thing I dislike is how inactive it is.

What we really need is an effective search bar.
