Your Friendly Neighborhood Satanist is back ladies and gentlemen!
And the question I have for you is simple, what game has the best writing? Just to clarify, story =/= writing. Mass Effect has one of the most gripping tales of justice and salvation ever told, but when a game features such cheesy lines as "I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite store on the Citadel," you have to wonder where your legendary Space Marine got his social skills, that dumpster there or the Krogan homeworld?
But enough about my childhood. I'm talking about games where certain bursts of dialog occurred randomly through the game that made you pause the game, laugh, or rethink about what s/he just said, or just applaud your television/monitor.
Brutal Legend is my pick, a game with such lines as "...we're naming this army Ironhead, with an "E" at the end so people know we're not messing around", or "What do you do with a bunch of kids that don't know how to do anything but bang their heads all day long? ; You start a revolution!"
It may have not been the best of games, but Jack Black's snappy personality and his obvious influence on the characters' banter made Brutal Legend the funniest and best-written game out there.
