The Three Man Canadian Band. If you haven't heard of them, please search them, listen, and comment on them, If u have heard of them tell me what you think about them, maybe recommend a song or tell us if about any concerts. I'm sorry if there was already a thread about them.
I think they're among the most talented musicians in the world, I like their older songs, like Tom Sawyer and 2112 Overture I was at their 2007 concert in Saratoga Springs NY
They're all very talented musicians, and I love Alex Lifeson's tone.
thereg - if you think Rush is out there then go listen to bands like Yes, early Genesis, Tool, Isis, etc. There are bands that are a lot more progressive than Rush.
people on this forum just dont care bout alt music or i think really anything except fictional thoughts, except a few of us, but i love Rush. dont really have a fav song but my fav album is "Fly by Night" and my fav song on tht album is 'making memories'.
being a drummer and what not, i am a HUUUUUUUGE rush fan. i listen to SO much rush, that i actually take an hour out of most days JUST to listen to rush. an amazing group of musicians right there and alex is one of the more underrated guitarists ever

Lol, who hasn't heard of Rush? I really like them. They're three brilliant musicians. Geddy Lee is a top five bassist of all time, and Neil Peart is the best drummer of all time. Unfortunately, Alex Lifeson is not in the top 5 or 10 guitarists, but that's only because there are people like Jimi and Eric Clapton. He's still really good, though.
I think he's underrated because he's a little overshadowed by Lee, who can go from his bass to the keyboard to the synthesizer and back to the bass, all while singing, and not miss a beat, and Peart, who handles his enormous drumset, and other precusion-instruments, like a xylophone, masterfully. Lifeson can switch between a fast paced note sequence(I don't know the word for it) on his electric guitar, to a slow paced part on his other, acoustic, guitar. And he plays all of the guitar parts by himself. Most other groups have 2 guitarists. That is proof he's great
He plays a lot of his solos on one string. That's actually a bit harder because you have to move your finger up and down that fret. And yeah, he is overshadowed by Geddy and Neil. I never really liked Lee's voice though... Well, I don't think it's super amazing. There are singers with much better voices in rock than him. But as a bass player he's phenomenal. And Neil Peart is the best drummer ever.
I vote for a sticky. Rush is, without a doubt, my favorite band of all time. I only need to buy 6 more albums until I have all of their studio albums. There are perhaps only an album's worth of songs that I don't like in their entire career. They were, in fact, the first music artist I ever enjoyed. (I think my first song was The Trees...) Until recently, I actually didn't know they were Progressive Rock, lol.
