****it Highfire, you got another one starting it! Soon it won't be special!
Anyway, Red Dead Redemption is Game of The Year 2010, the best you could buy in that year. It's an open-world 3rd-person sandbox centering around a man with a giant scar and epic scruff, John Marston.
John Marson is a man with a mission, do whatever it is the government tells him to so his family will be safe. An ex-outlaw, John knows the inns and outs of how to use a 6-shooter. The game features a stunningly alive world with Oblivion-esque quests and random events, various weapons, from throwing knives to shotguns, an excellent library of DLC, and one of the most deep and satisfying campaigns in games.
That being said, Red Dead Redemption didn't get that aforementioned GOTY title without stiff resistance.
God of War 3, Mass Effect 2, Starcraft 2, Halo: Reach, and Heavy Rain were the greatest and most innovative titles of 2010, excellent competition for the grand title of Game of The Year, but in the end, the best Western game out there beat all the odds and took home the gold.
If you just want a 10-word summary; Red Dead Redemption is an excellent game. Play it now.
