Well, they seem to make the same mistakes because they don't learn how to fix their spelling.
Bluntness aside, I suppose some things are best learnt through experience. You may not appreciate the full gravity of a situation unless you find yourself mired. Some people fail to learn off the misfortunes of others.
Yeah I agree with both of you. Surely I thing a mistake in history was cleopatra because she killed herself to not live with humiliation(one reason of many) by putting her hand in a basket that was the current domain of a snake so that what's-his-name couldn't have the pleasure of killing her (which was smart) but then the Egyptian empire fell (shame really, I adored that civilization) and her son suffered as well. Although I don't know if that's ever been repeated. But history repeats itself that's just the nature of it and you can't change nature. And even if we repeat a mistake that occurred in the past it's because everybody's human and nobody is perfect. (it is the truth even though I may sound a little sappy).
Well, one HUGE mistake was the Casey Anthony trail verdict... but... one good mistake was when Alexander Flemming accidentally left out petrie dishes and penicillin was invented. Penicillin saved lots of people and was/is very important.
Why do people never learn from the past and amke the same mistakes?
People don't pay attention. In school, sometimes, people make the same mistakes over again. Like, sometimes, a kid in my class will do something wrong or ask a question, and the next kid will do the exact same thing wrong if they didn't pay attention.
It's not so simple. If a kid breaks something, and then you tell him not to do it, he won't usually do it again. Considering that you will be mad at him again.
Now, let's say some other kid breaks something, then you tell him to never do it again, and to pass it on to his children and then his children have to pass it to their children to not break stuff and so on, from generation to generation. What are the chance that in 2000 years, some kid, in the same bloodline, would not break something? They are nearly impossible.
It's the same thing with humanity. The damage starts wearing out, people start to forget about the incidence, and at a certain point, humanity doesn't remember how the consequences of the mistake really where. So they do the same mistake again.
