I think my favorite book, if it counts, is Kurt Vonnegut's Welcome To the Monkey House, a collection of short stories. It has some of my favorites in it, like "Harrison Bergeron" and "Welcome To the Monkey House" itself.

The Dune series by Frank Herbert and the Barsoom series by Edward Rice Burroughs.

I like old school science fiction. Wanna fight about it?

Oh! And Lovecraft. In general.

I have 2:

Plato and a Platypus walk into a Bar: Understanding Philosophy Through Jokes. by Thomas Cathcart and Daniel Klein

Confederates in the Attic: Dispatches from the Unfinished Civil War. by Anthony Horwitz

the second one refers to the USA civil war.

They are both awesome, kinda funny books.

I used to like the Inheritance Cycle, before I realized how cheesy it is. Blah blah blah a town boy finds out he's the chosen hero and fights the Dark Lord.

My new favorite books are the Mistborn books written by Brandon Sanderson, Elantris also written by him, and maybe the Alex Rider series. Haven't gotten around to reading The Way of Kings, which is a 1008 page book also by Brandon Sanderson.

A small list of my favorite books.

Journey To The Centre Of The Earth - Jules Verne
Around The World In Eighty Days - Jules Verne
20,000 Leagues Under The Sea - Jules Verne
Treasure Island - Robert Louis Stevenson
King Solomon's Mines - Sir H. Rider Haggard

All of these books are classics so some people might not have heard of them but i would suggest these books to anyone since in my opinion they are some of the best books ever written.
