I have noticed AG has begun to offer Premium content (evidence of this is the games The Last Stand: Union City and the latest Kingdom Rush update). One of the reasons why I have been a loyal user of AG in preference to any other Flash games site is because there was no premium content. I absolutely abhor sites like Kongregate that beg you to buy premium content in basically every game, with ridiculous game-breaking advantages when you do. I think it kills the casual spirit of Flash gaming. If AG is going that direction now, I'll be severely disappointed. If devs need the money, then add a donate button, or more ads to the page! Don't resort to such lame tactics as Premium content. Thank you for your consideration.

Ads are annoying and should be minimized. Also, I think premium content adds more revenue than a "donate" button because premium content gives advantages and is therefore more attractive than donations that provide no advantage to players.
If you were a game developer, this would make a ton of sense to you. In this world, you need money to get by, and simply having a "donate" button will not cut it.
Offering goods in return for donations will make people want to cough up a few extra cents, so you can get by day to day.
Yes, but it also cheapens the effort of those that did not buy Premium content tremenduously. I sweated my *** off to get 15 stars in Kingdom Rush and people can just buy 15 stars? While I don't care that much because it's a singleplayer game, if it were a multiplayer game (some Flash games have a multiplayer component) I would be quite pissed. It's the same reason why item shops in MMO games are so loathed by discerning gamers.
If you are really that concerned about putting so much time and effort into the meaningless achievements and completion of completely free Flash games (Premium content notwithstanding), go do something else. Instead of spending all that time on it. And wasting more of said time complaining about it. Especially when it is to a group of people that have no control whatsoever over whether or not game devs put in Premium content.

Ads are the lesser of two evils. Would you prefer a few ads popping up or paying a monthly subscription on a site like this? AG need to advertise in order to give a million+ users free access to numerous games.
Premium content isn't that bad. It's like saying people shouldn't pay monthly for games such as WoW.
premium content makes sense. you have to realize that the games are only hosted here at AG its up to the gameDEVS to decide what they put in the game. and some of the games with premium content will not of been made specifically for AG so some features are part of the game itself not a websites general theme
This is possibly my theory on how Premium content should be used.
I REALLY hate it when you put premium content on player vs player types of games such as Shell Shock Live. Makes the game hard to play for others who are too young to have a credit card, strict parents, all of that stuff. And getting free points doing surveys and stuff puts millions of ads on your computer for some reason which I really hate!
Premium content should only be allowed on games that are not multiplayer based such as The Last Stand Union City. Or if it is a campaign AND multiplayer game. Only Premium content should be allowed on campaign. OR Content that does not enhance your multiplayer power, but instead just costumes or cool looking things like how Exit Path 2 has that cool Exit Pass. But if you are going to put it on multiplayer to enhance power, make it really expensive XD so no one will be able to buy it that much
Lol. But seriously I hate premium content on multiplayer games that enhance your power.
I don't see anybody explicitly stating this just yet, but everybody's main concern about premium content only really extends to content that gives players an advantage in a PvP setting (like what Runescape did first).
Personally I think the kind of premium content that the Last Stand 3 and Exit Path 2 offers is just fine. As far as I could tell it wasn't as if there was a goal-oriented incentive to buying the stuff, the improvements were mainly for cosmetic and novelty purposes. If I were that interested or that big a fan of the developers/games I would therefore have an opportunity to show my support by making that purchase and reaping the benefits, instead of simply making a donation and feeling good about myself (because let's face it, that's a fine thing and all but that's coming out of my donation budget which could have gone to UNICEF or Amnesty International or...)
Some factors in why I may see it differently to many of you guys include peer pressure from seeing people with premium content in a PvP situation regardless of whether it confers any tangible advantage (which doesn't affect me as I don't have time to play PvP, which is also the reason I didn't buy the premium content). The other reason would be because I have a regular income and I imagine the majority of users on this site don't. Your view on these things changes significantly when you actually have room for discretionary spending.

Actually, Runescape doesn't quite fit into that category. Well In my opinion. Runescape separates the PvP from non spenders and spenders. Shell Shock Live however does that. Runescape is tolerable.
Unless your just talking about a PvP system for people who buy stuff. Then I apologize
But I agree with all the other stuff you said. But some people I said previously, can not buy stuff online period due to age, lack of credit card, or any other reason. But of course, if you can access buying online premium content and you like the game a lot to spend a couple bucks to improve your gameplay, then of course go ahead. You need a way to make money of course. Sometimes advertisements are never enough
Peer Pressure sometimes is not a factor unless you can persuade your parents into buying the premium content or you have a credit card. Premium content is always a nice way to improve your gaming, but it is optional. The only thing annoys me is if it ruins other peoples gameplay in multiplayer systems.
Ok all of you morons who are *****ing about the premium content get the hell over it ok its the developers who added in the premium content not armorgames if you don't want it just dont buy it holy **** is it really that hard?
I agree with The Legit Gamer. It's completely fine to have a game where premium content power enhancement only effects single player modes, but I think that people using premium content can't use it to get on a high score board, BUT there should be a way for those who have premium content to be able to disable it temporarily.
