I don't think a meteor strike would offer the diversity of amino acids we find on this planet. While I wouldn't discount the possibility I do think there was more going on than just that to allow for the process of life forming to begin. Evidence indicates that such amino acids could form right here. This is why I think if a meteor strike depositing amino acids would only act as a sort of booster shot and not the primary means of starting the process.

As for those of you saying "God did it" I think such opinions are of no use to this thread. Particularly since the OP states this is all he hears from those he goes to school with.

my personal opinion.

Once apon a time there were a bunch of little tadpoles swimming around and mating a lot like all of them were at it anyway one day a tiny little tadpole crawled out of the sea and became like a monkey like animal. Then like heaps of tadpoles started crawling out of the sea and became like monkey things. Then those monkeys started to you know and then those little baby monkeys became like less hairy and so on till finally there was man.
THE END.

That is a rather infantile way of describing evolution, but doesn't seem to say anything about the origin of life.

You raise a good point to be honest that was just something i came up with on the spot so i didn't really think about the small details.

or the idea when a metorite impacted with planet earth protines combinded to make amino acids ( or reverse) then rna.... then dna... then basic cell structers from simple glicose bubbles... for simple cell walls

It's the other way round, proteins are made of amino acids.. and amino acids don't just randomly form complex functional proteins. It is currently believed that the first step was RNA, since it can take over enzymatic functions as well as information purpose; meaning it's a basic protein, and a basic DNA combined. The RNAs coded for proteins who could then code for DNA.

umm goin to say no to that it goes

amino acids- proteins- rna- dna

when you put two rna together you get dna

Proteins can't make RNA without information of it's sequence. You'd need another RNA before that.

when you put two rna together you get dna

RNA has one different base than DNA, putting two single-stranded RNA together only makes a double-stranded RNA.

but im not going to argue... one because its like winning a race at the special olypics... your still retarted...

You could try to be more polite instead?

and second... im only 13 working of the top of ma head

I mean no harm, really. Just educating you about what you're arguing with.
