Hi folks. I need some info:

First, why some characters appear as errors in comments or posts?

Examples of this are the british pound symbol (the L-like), all the accentuation marks and russian letters.

Second, is there any plans of making these irregular characters to appear on the site?

It would be cool and useful, y'know?

Thanks for the attention and any help.

AG does not support anything but the most basic letter and signs. Sorry.

I think there was some talk about having the next version support further lettering and sign-age, but it's late, so I won't go looking for it.

I hope they do allow you to write accent marks in the future. I am from Brazil and when I post on other Brazillians profiles It's hard to understand without them.

Is it because of the site's engine?

By that you mean that might had a discussion to put on AG3 a way to write exotic lettering?

but it's late, so I won't go looking for it.

Hey, look! I found a lazy moderator! Oo

(laughs)

Sites don't have engines, and I think it's because it takes more data to support multi-bit characters.

Here it is.

If a moderator really is lazy, then the admins should think about a de-mod. Otherwise, just ignore false laziness, especially if the mod does something other than laziness.

Oh, Patrick...

That would mean that it would need a better server or something?

Thanks for the link. That was helpful. Ever thought about being a mod? You got my vote!

Nah, I think that this is not the case. Was a case of momentaneous laziness.

I'm not even sure if that's the reason, but it's not that their server can't handle it, it's that it's could be cheaper to not.

Well I'm not old enough, so not to much.

If you use the alt codes they work. Link to some currency symbols

To use alt codes, just hold down the alt key, and (us the 10 key number pad) enter the code. Let go of the alt key and voila! You have a currency symbol
