I don't even know where to begin. I can see the violence argument, but why then is playing sports even allowed? ...especially American football. It's a sport where athletes are constantly hurt and/or aiming to hurt the other people. I believe it is their right to do whatever they want to do, but the logic behind why they're doing or not doing it bothers me.... and their inconsistency with the promotion of non-violence bothers me too. What is your opinion?
Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming? O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming? Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there. Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
Actually Palpatine they don't have a football team, however they do have other sports in which contact is frequent such as soccer.
Bladerunner their beliefs are their right, however to ban music, I could understand if they banned an anthem that was filled with heavy metal, the star spangled banner is not violent.
To be honest, I'm quite happy about this, I've never particularly liked how our colony (the one that likes to call itself the USA) kind of waves their small victory in our faces. You could always get them to sing the British national Anthem - the Canadian one is good too.

Now that I got that out of the way... I don't see the anthem as promoting violence. It acknowledges that there was violence a long time ago and it makes us acknowledge that there is violence in the current day. If anything, it's saying thank you to the people who died, the people who are dying, and those that will die (the second and third are more of an understood that just come as a package deal w/ doing the first) in order to keep us safe.
...but if that's how they want to express their liberties, then whatever. I just don't follow their logic. I mean... It's like the opposite of a violent melody
