My first game was Pokemon Sapphire and I chose Treeko which is now a level 100 Sceptile. What about you?
I've noticed that besides Yellow, I've always picked the Water pokemon I didn't even intend to.

@ ryuta123Pokemon red didn't have different colored pokemon. Unless you mean Fire Red
PKMN Pearl lol,i never got PKMN games back in the day,well i chosed turtwig.
If i had the older PKMN games,id choose charmander,just because of his last Evolution.
Back than I didn't care about strategy, I just picked charmander because he was red.
the first pokemon i played was red when it was released to the U.S. Starter pokemon was charmander! Still my fav. gameboy game of all time.
ive actually played them all but my first was blue and bulbasaur cause he trolled the first two gyms lol, my fav is a toss up between soulsilver and ruby
