I liked Runescape, it was good fun, but it did get dull fast. There wasn't enough involvement with the game. As APmeteor stated, way too much time was spent on skills rather than enjoying the game.
I hate it but my cousin can't get enough. He was one of the top ten players in the state for a while and he has played a whole year on one of his several accounts. YIKES!
im addicted to it i have spent around 15 days playing it i love how its a virtual life with a difference by having so many different skills it is unique because it takes time and effort to make the cash to level up in that sense i think its probably the best online game at the minute
I used to love playing runescape but the way the economy is stuck going downhill and will keep declining is complete bs because you can buy something worth 10m one day and next week it will be 6m so anything you get will eventually become worthless. Best example D chain was 25m a few years back now it is like 5m (not sure on exact price).
In my opinion they should make runescape 3 (it's currently 2 classic was 1) or just a massive update and add loads of new bosses and monsters and items so that there isn't many items and items that are meant to be rare like d chain will become rare again.
as for accounts they can either stay on rs2 or make a new account and play rs3
The only problem I have with Runescape is the -massive- botting problem. All the resources are taken up by them, as well as the training spots, lowering the economy and pretty much raising noobs into level 100's+ and people buying millions of coins with real money. I don't mind grinding, at least it gives you something to work towards.
Pointless
Every game is pointless, they are made to be fun, not accomplish anything in rl.

only 15 days? course you'll love it everything on RS is for noobs now
after a year you'll learn to hate it like most everyone, unless you buy members otherwise it's just as boring as any other click and grind game with a multitude of bots and a terrible economy
It's got a vast world, and I have a lot of friends on it. It can be a grindfest, it's just how you choose to play it. If you choose to focus on one skill, it gets quite boring, but if you mix it up it's pretty fun. The questing and minigames are fun.

wait are you a member or do you play f2p i didn't know RS had minigames for f2p
Yeah, it is true that most of the content is members, but they need to make money. I think F2P deserves a few more minigames though.
i don't like it when they restrict content to you just because you don't wanna pay, also the whole it doesn't last very long.
a little known game called saga i pay for it A LOT because they don't restrict anything, money is used for getting troops the easiest way and a few other things, but i could still get troops (albeit limited amounts) via tournaments and trading, but paying for it is much easier, and hey, it works
They are a little money hungry I think. The way they've been managing it recently is giving it away. 6$ a month is too high in my opinion. It should be an alltime price, maybe 30$ or so, or 20$ a year or something like that.
