I saw the new Arkandian game and upon starting it, it suggested I should finish the previous game first. I found and loaded Crusade and realised I'd played it before and wondered why I hadn't finished it. So I started a new character and began to play.
Then I remembered why I'd never finished it.
Almost every time I go to an adventure location, I move around for a while with the ASDW keys but then the movement gets "stuck". My character just keeps heading in one direction, even though the key isn't pressed. If I try to force it to go back the other way it kind of jiggles in place. If it runs itself into a corner I can sometimes go sideways (or up/down if it got stuck going sideways initially), but often it then has an issue with the sideways motion as well. So it will, for example keep moving both South and West and nothing I do can make it do anything else.
Refreshing the page may or may not fix the issue, but despite what the game says about a refresh sending you out of the location but putting you just outside, it takes me back to the main screen and I have to pay the fee to go adventuring in the same location again. And there's no guarantee that when I get there I can move properly. After spending the fee 3 or 4 times to finally clear a location, it's not worth the expense.
So my question is - does anyone else have this problem? Despite searching through several pages (why isn't there a forum search function in here?), I can't find any sort of thread on either of these games, never mind a bugs thread. Surely I can't be the only one unable to move their character properly in the Arkandian games. What little I've been able to play is quite fun, and I'd love to play the whole thing - but with the broken movement it's just not possible.
Really? 60 of you have read this and not one of you has had this problem? It's not just happening on this site - I found the same game on Kongregate and it does the same thing, so clearly it's a game issue. I can't be the only one that it's affecting.
I've had the same problem with both. The problem was really bad in 1 and I read that it was a known Chrome problem, so I switched to IE with no trouble. Then in 2 I've had continuous problems with "stuck" keys in IE and Chrome both.
If you get stuck running in one direction, press the key into that direction once, helps most of the times (and this isn't an issue with the game, more with your keyboard, most likely)
My problem with the series is that eventough I've finished the first both ways I don't get the benefits in the second, dicouraging me from playing a) the one that doesn't give me the credit I've earned and b) the one I've played through 3 times already.
For those suggesting it's my keyboard, I'm pretty sure that's not the case. I don't have this issue with any other game that uses ASWD for movement. It's only on this game. If it was my keyboard or my computer in general, then I'd be experiencing it with other games as well. It's only this game, and it's this game no matter what site I use to play it.
Before I even posted the first time, I'd tried cleaning out my keyboard and doing the "ress the key in the same direction it's stuck" thing. Nothing helps. Like I said in my first post, sometimes if I refresh the game it moves normally for a short while, but then it'll get stuck again.
Believe me, I've tried everything at my end to make sure it's not my problem. It really doesn't seem to be a problem at my end. I have no issue with other games of a similar type. Just this one.
